Beech Hill Lake

Barnet, North London

A woman walked down to the shore of the green space with her dog, off leash. The dog proceeded to run out after this egret, causing it to relocate. She tried calling it back, but it would have nothing to do with her. She needs to use that leash, as required by law!!! First comment is moments before, as the dog charges...

The dawning of September 28th in the high field here on the farm. Thanks for the look and have a marvelous Sunday.

This is a local green space. It is very uncared for and unappreciated, but you can still find here, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Coal Tit, Longtail Tit, Wren, Robins, Dunnock, Sparrows, Gold finches, Chaffinch, Blackbird, Song Thrush, Green Woodpecker, Great spotted woodpecker, Wood Pigeons, Kestrel, Buzzard, Jays, Crows, Magpies, Grey Wagtails, Kingfisher, Heron, Mallard, Moorhen, Fox, Weasel, Wood Mice, ( signs of ) Otter.

Our local greenspace has been designated as a site of nature conservation interest.

Picture taken at night time in the Planty — i.e. the chain of 36 small gardens that surround the historic city of Kraków (Poland).

This green belt was established in place of the medieval walls between 1822–1830 as part of the urban development project following the "garden city" movement.

It is now a great place to have a walk at any time of the day (and night...).

Woodberry Wetlands

Opened in 2016 by Sir David Attenborough, this is a natural space in a densely built-up environment. The nature reserve is now a thriving habitat.

Hillside greenery and autumnal clouds over the mountains.

Bryant Park, a narrow strip of green space near downtown White Rock, BC.

A small slender maple tree was dwarfed by the surrounding tall thick evergreens, despite its "miniature" status, it stood out from all the other trees - due to its colourful foliage.

The Underhill district you can find time to chill with the family around the Ferris wheel. Can't wait for the Sim hunt!

This landscape photo was taken, in Europe, in France, in ile de France, in Paris, in summer. We see the Recruitment Office of the city of Paris, under the Sun.

The Gene Leahy Mall is located in the middle of downtown Omaha Nebraska (my home town)! It stretches for approximately 5 blocks. It is encircled by pathways, waterways, waterfalls, two huge slides for kids, a horseshoe pit and an amphitheater where concerts are held in the summer. In winter thousands of lights are lit in a large ceremony. It has been a source of relaxation and beauty for hundreds of thousands of local citizens and visitors to our city.

Our lunatic mayor has now decided to eliminate this whole area this coming Spring in a 3 year project!

I am sure some politicians hands were greased with money to have this happen. It always goes back that someone is planning on making a boatload of money at other’s expenses.

Evening Walks ... Keep Safe

Sempione Park was the second park to be founded in Milan and is named after the fact that it was situated along the route that starts at the cathedral door, goes through the Arch of Peace, and leads to the Passo del Sempione (Simplon Pass). Located on the site of the ancient Piazza d'armi, it was built in the 1890s by the architect Alemagna with an asymmetrical plan to contrast with the regular texture of the urban layout.

Important historical buildings and Milanese institutions lie along its edges, such as the Sforza Castle (seen here), the Gianni Brera Arena, the Arch of Peace, the Triennale di Milano and the Civic Aquarium.

Set against the backdrop of Toronto’s infamous Don River, cross sections of a canoe are scattered, divided and sunken into a concrete landscape. This large-scale installation pays tribute to the river’s long and tumultuous history, suggesting a civic call to action — a fierce reclamation and reconnection to Toronto’s waterways. Ernst & Young Plaza

Been a while since I wandered around downtown L.A. taking photos. This was from a Photo Expedition in the Spring of 2017. (over five years ago and I remember the afternoon well when looking through the Photo Folder)

On the other side of the Wedbush Building, in the center of the photo, is the freeway, and the Plaza is next to the Ernst & Young skyscraper. However there were a few greenspaces, and I got the camera down in the grass to get this shot.

Be Like A Lotus

These portraits of plants, have been made for many different reasons but always for the JOY of it. All of my photographs are daytime, made in city parks and gardens and virtually straight out of the camera with the absolute minimum of post processing.

This on going photographic odyssey, that I call TERRA INCOGNITA, has helped me notice what is always present in my life if I can make the time to look.

The Athens Avalon Greenspace is almost done.

An urban greenspace in late autumn.

This was before lockdown was announced but we all knew Miss Rona was getting out of hand and I remember at this time being afraid to leave the house. Urban greenspaces like Fernbrae Meadows have been such a lifeline to so many during this time and I hope local authorities now have a new appreciation for them as well as the public. Taken in March 2020.

It is names in honour of the the grand old lady of Camden, Miss Llewella Davies who was an icon of the town.

Fast forward to 2016 when Camden Council and the Camden Town Farm management committee were given a grant of $351,000 from the Metropolitan Greenspace Program to fund the construction of the Llewella Davies Pioneer Walkway.

Built at a cost of $702,000 Camden Council funded the balance of the required cost to enable the project to be undertaken.

The Walkway which encompasses an overall distance of approximately 2.4 kilometres is contained within the Camden Town Farm and was opened by Camden Mayor Theresa Fidelli on 17th August 2019.

Positioned on the high ground and overlooking the Camden area is this reminder of the past.
