In October of 1983, Dennis O'Neil and Neal Adams began the self-titled "Hard Travelling Heroes" era in DC's history. Where Hal and Ollie basically went on a roadtrip across the USA, fightin' crime! It was an... 'interesting' era in DC, to say the least.
Now GA just went through a few phases in his published career. Like originally the dude's out there wearing a Robin Hood costume being a rich boy rip-off of Batman. He had stuff like the Arrow Car and an Arrow Cave and The Arrow Plane and fun little Arrow Gadgets and a little Red Sidekick yaddayadda.... Then one day (that day being the 1970's) he just started lecturing Green Lantern all the time!
He was like "Aw man, I used to be a rich guy and now the rich are bad and the rich ruin everything, and why won't you like... get out of your green bubble and stop flying around in your weird green space stuff and come down and walk the streets of America and you'll learn a thing or two about a thing or two young man!"
(Direct quote, obviously)
...Oh and then Roy became a drug addict... then the series got canceled.... yeah, good times. :P
Anyway, since getting CyclopsBricks' Green Arrow back in February, The GA/GL series was one of the first things that came to my mind!
This is an interesting cover, because as far as I can tell, this is/was an inked Neal Adams sketch from the time of the series, but was only recently used on the re-release of The Green Lantern/Green Arrow Collection from 2012. Despite my lack of knowledge on how this cover came to be, I just really liked the overall simplicity and imagery of it, and wanted to try my hand at re-creating it! :)

Oh and for anyone that's wondering, Hal's Torso and legs are from a really really old customBRICKS fig. Also, his head and ring are both Onlinesailin with some modifications of course ;)

Sunday 30th June 2019 saw Lothian Country start its new Green Arrow Express operations. Routes include EX1 between Edinburgh and Bathgate and EX2 between Edinburgh and Linlithgow.
Monday to Saturdays each service operates every 30 minutes with an hourly Sunday service on each route.
For this service brand new easy access Plaxton bodied Volvo B8R coaches have also been introduced.
The very first departure from Edinburgh is Lothian Country 9203 with a EX1 to Bathgate. 30th June 2019.
The much missed V2 Green Arrow 4771 passes through Loughborough's green and pleasent land 😄25th May 2006

An SLOA charter, 'The Curator', seen at Heeley on the approach to Sheffield on 26 May 1979, originated at Euston was class 86 hauled to Manchester Piccadilly and class 25 hauled to Guide Bridge. The onward section to York via the Hope Valley was steam hauled by MR Compound no. 1000 & LNER class V2 no. 4771 'Green Arrow'.
Oliver: "There are many more names on the list. Those who rule my city through intimidation and fear. Every last one of them will wish I had died on that island."
Oliver: "When I reached it [Lian Yu], I knew. I knew that I was going to have to live for for both of us..."

I recently realized that I had yet to do any of Oliver's flashbacks to his time on the island (Lian Yu). I will be including vignettes spread out the series that have ".5" with the number, signifying them as a flashback.
This was a fairly basic vignette, but I like how the layered rock formations turned out (they're a little hard to see from this angle). You'll recognize some similarities to #01 Five Years, and that's because I wanted to keep the same atmosphere as my previous Lian Yu vignette. In this scene, Oliver's father sacrificed himself so that his son could live. Now, Oliver has just been shipwrecked on the island and he washed up in a small cove. I couldn't find a clip of the scene to share, but trust me, it is accurate. :)
I'm excited to do Oliver's flashbacks as well as his time back in Starling City. It's almost like telling two stories in one!

Batman and Green Arrow could hear bickering as soon as the vigilantes entered the greenery.
"I'm amazed they've accomplished as much as they did..." Oliver quipped, trailing closely behind Bruce.
"Quiet." Bruce ordered
"Even if you were ElephantMan, I don't think they'd notice us..." Oliver drew an Arrow, "Here, allow me..."
Oliver pulled back his bow and released an arrow that struck the ground in front of the two bickering assailants. The tip of the arrow exploded like a small flash-bang grenade, silencing them both in a puff of smoke.
Merlyn immediately drew his own bow but was still blinded. Ivy shrieked as thick vines grew around her in defense.
"Alright kids, playtime's over!" Green Arrow taunted, stepping into the light.
Batman put a hand in his face and groaned. He stood from his hiding spot, meeting Oliver at his side. "Come clean and I promise your sentence may be shortened." His deep voice commanded.
Ivy's vines slowly receded, "Oooh look, Merlyn, it's The Batman in our own garden.... And he's brought along a handsome new friend...." she grinned, raising an eyebrow, "I like your colors Robin Hood...."
Green Arrow was taken back a little, "Yoouu're a special kind of crazy, aren't ya?"
Bruce cut in, "This isn't like you Pamela. Working with Malcolm is wrong and you know it. He doesn't care how you feel. Merlyn is not your friend."
"...Oh but Batman.... My only 'real' friend is mother nature. You of all people should know that...." she gazed across the piles of gold, "Besides, think of all the land this could buy... I could start anew.... just me and my babies....”
"Look lady, we don't want any trouble!" Oliver tightened the grip on his bow, "This whole 'borrowing shiny stuff that isn't yours' thing… well, that gets old real fast! See, my suggestion is t-"
"Enough!" Merlyn shouted, "You vigilantes are the least of my concerns! With the idol back in the possession of The League of Assassins, nothing will stop the tides from washing away the evil this world has rought!”
Oliver smirked, "Well in that case Malcolm, how about you and I go skinny dippin'?"
"Yes, lets!" Merlyn fired an arrow and the fight was on!

All of the above are either museum pieces or have time expired 10 year operating certificates. 60022 (4468) Mallard, and 60800 (4771) Green Arrow, are housed in the NRM museum. 60019 (4464) Bittern is currently being overhauled as is 60532 Blue Peter. This once in a lifetime line up was at Barrow Hill Roundhouse in 2012.
I suppose, in contrast to The Dark Archer ( www.flickr.com/photos/thebritishbafoon/14055334594/ ) I feel inclined to share a bit of Ollie with you all.
Super simple build here, so nothing too special. I was however going for more of a comic book feel with this one, rather than dramatic Arrow lighting.
Also, I was extremely pleased at how my brick organizer's/green walls in my apartment made for a great city scape behind the model (it's the little things) :P

I'm back in the new year with a new addition to my Arrow vignette series! I sincerely promise that I will be spending a lot more time with this soon. I have been working on it behind-the-scenes, and I'm excited for my next scene (hint, it includes Deadshot). I got the show's soundtrack for Christmas, so there's been a lot of listening to that while building.
This LEGO scene kind of scrapes together two flashback scenes into one, mainly because I wasn't going to bother making both individually. The theme of this scene in the show always stood out to me. It was the first time Oliver was forced to kill something (in this case, a pheasant) in order to survive the island. It's a memorable moment that stuck with me, and I knew I wanted to depict it here. I'm happy with how the little bird cage turned out. Hope you enjoy! :)

Aquaman: I think I've shown him before, but i wanted to again. His design is based off his Futures end, and I gave him the smiling Thor face, since I love him in Batman: The Brave And The Bold, so i wanted to make him a bit more friendly.

This bus was new to Lothian Country as 9204 in 2019.

Just recently picked up one of the new Batman figs from bricklink, along with some misc. minifig parts and out of the blue designed (what I think to be) an awesome Green Arrow (that mustache tho).
I've just finished the first season of CW's Arrow on netflix and I highly recommend it if you haven't already been watching. It captures the "Nolan Realisim" that DC tends to go for in recent live-action stuff, but still holds an awesome respect for the comic origins and other characters with an awesome twist (Slade :) ). Stephen Amell really brings something new to the character, and I really like it and stuff and I'm a fanboy shut up. :P
Anyway yeah, that was the primary inspiration for the fig. Plus a tinge of Bruce Timm JL and New 52. (But mostly Arrow)
For being pretty unplanned, I think he turned out really sweet. :)
Commencing on Sunday 30th June, Lothian Country will launch its new Green Arrow Express services.
The new routes will be as follows:
EX1: Bathgate Town Centre, Boghall, DIRECT VIA M8, Maybury, Haymarket and The Exchange every 30 minutes, Monday to Saturday and hourly on a Sunday
EX2: Linlithgow Bridge, Linlithgow Town Centre, Springfield, DIRECT VIA M9, RBS Gogarburn, Maybury, Haymarket, and The Exchange every 30 minutes, Monday to Saturday and hourly on a Sunday.
Green Arrow will have a bespoke and dedicated team of drivers. The operation will run with a fleet of eight coaches which have been custom built in the UK by Plaxton, part of Alexander Dennis Limited, to exceed customer expectations.
The coaches have an innovative new forward facing wheelchair bay and have been fitted with full coach seating, Wi-Fi, USB charging, mood lighting and audio-visual stop announcements, offering a fantastic customer experience.

Without hesitation Batman threw a pair of batarangs, spiked plants rose aggressively from the ground, and a multitude of arrows flew through the air!
Batman summersaulted away from the vice grip of snake-like weeds. "Get him my babies! Squeeze him out of that ridiculous outfit!"
Green Arrow also had his hands full, Merlyn was not letting up. Soon Oliver had cleaned out his quiver.
Without any other options he dived for cover, only to find a vegetable patch! "...Huh." A thought crossed his mind, "No that'll never work..."
An arrow clipped off Oliver's cover with a loud clang, "Come out here and face me!" Merlyn shouted.
"Well there's a first for everything I suppose..." Oliver muttered, and began pulling on the roots at his feet.
Merlyn flanked his hiding spot and drew his final arrow. "Don't take this personally..." he released his shot, just missing the hero.
Green Arrow leaped out of the way, "Don't worry I won't, but I'll return the sentiment...."
Oliver drew back the largest carrot he'd ever seen, and shot it square into Malcolm's jaw, knocking him to the ground in a slump!
"That actually worked?!" Green Arrow chuckled and ran to Merlyn, cuffing him.
Malcolm scowled trying to free himself, "You puerile bowman! You only delay the inevitable! Gotham's reckoning is upon you and there is no way to halt the raging bull”
"I'm gonna have to stop you right there...." Oliver got Merlyn to his feet, "Great use of the word puerile! You must have been an ace at The League's annual spelling bee!"
Behind the two of them, Poison Ivy's monstrous foliage fell limp and they could both hear her shout in defeat!

This was just a little experiment with angles & focus.
I'm happy with it (but maybe not 100%)... literally no planning involved, the modular set were lying on the table and I had these minifigs at hand so took 2 shots, the first "Arrow" was a touch outta focus.
Played around with the colors and added the rain effect (mainly as "Arrow" has been collecting dog hairs).
V2 4771 makes a volcanic climb out of Manchester Victoria up Miles Platting Bank on a tour from Sheffield returning to York.

Aaaand here I was, building away in blissful oblivion, leaving the part that made me start this build for last: Gandalf the white's hair.
Just as I finished, surprise. TLG in their infinite wisdom decided "You shall not use that part unless you make Gandalf or Santa. Or random old guy with beard." The bloody beard's glued to the hair.
Hence my China not-so-White fig.
kishalego on IG is holding a Halloween superhero contest to have DC/Marvel characters dress up as each other. Obviously I had to get in on this, but I think I went a little overboard as usual.
This group is contains the Justice League dressed up as Marvel characters that I (mostly) randomly selected, and that Marvel character dressed as that member of the Justice League. The Justice Leaguers are on the top row; Marvel on the bottom.
