Leonetto Cappiello was an early branding innovator. He drew heavily from Art Nouveau, but realized the inefficiency of such styles. He determined that elaborate and flowery ads, such as those by Alphonse Mucha, were becoming obsolete under the quickened pace of European life. Industry, technology, and consumerism, needed to deliver a simpler bolder and quicker message. Capiello capitalized on this to develop an “associative process” from which a single subject was associated with a product

Shiv has been working as a freelance illustrator for the last 10 years... give or take. Her illustrations are created from photography and photoshop. This can give some of her work quite a realistic feel within her quite abstract subject matter.
Her clients have included Nike, BMW, Sony Music and Camel. Her editorial work has also appeared in many publications in the UK as well as Spain, Germany and America.
