This is the last photo I was able to work on and print at New England School of Photography. I shot and developed it Monday 3/9 and started working on it Tuesday night at NESOP. I finished a couple final prints on Wednesday and expected to return on Thursday and Friday to work on a few more prints.

Unfortunately, like every other school and college in the area, NESOP shut down on Thursday (the last graduating class was still permitted access to the facilities to finish their final projects, but I was only allowed to get my prints and leave).

I posted more photos of the provess on my IG page:

Originally taken as two stand alone images, to be framed side x side. Little mishap in the darkroom and the negs were scratched to hell. I put them in photoshop to clean up and just decided to stitch them together since I had nothing to loose at that point.

Uneven development unfortunately. - Will visit this boat again.

Prowess, loaded with nails, sunk outside Askvoll in 1948. The wreckage was bought for its nails and motor and moved to this spot (Kvamsvika, Norway) by a local businessman.

Franken conversion complete. Now I can use all these lenses. I added the Super Graphic lens holder, some wood, routing, drilling and black silicone.

OK this "photo of a stranger" is a little different inasmuch it was taken in my (very) makeshift studio and my even more makeshift darkroom. A few years back I got into making my own wet plates after I did a course. I wanted to take portraits and after I had taken an image of just about everyone I knew I put an ad out on my Facebook page and Carl (above) got in touch. He popped around the next day, suitably attired and I took 3 plates in half an hour (the other two can be seen if you check out the wet plate album. Unfortunately taking wet plates in the street is almost impossible, which is a shame. Lockdown put an end to my wet plate activities and all my chemicals expired and I've not got back into yet which is a pity and I really enjoyed it. Carl was (and still is I think) a punk (hence his hair) and was photogenic to say the least. I haven't seen him since but I gave him a plate and he seemed reasonably pleased he made the effort.

I got back from hospital today and had to try my home made ground glass for my Graflex Speed Graphic. It was easy to focus with. - Buffed with silicon carbide 600 grit.

Did obviously miss focus on closest eye.

Mr. Mendes has photographed celebrities Spike Lee, Denzel Washington, Cab Calloway, Tito Puente and Gordon Parks.

Mendes predominantly uses a Graflex Speed Graphic camera (shown in this picture); he has also used a Polaroid Spectra, modified Polaroid 110b, view camera and medium and large format cameras.
