Today--June 22, 2013--I will be attending the graduation/commencement ceremony at Webutuck High School in Amenia, New York. The word graduation indicates an ending or completion, while commencement indicates a beginning. Both are most appropriate for this day! Although I was employed by the district for 13 years & retired 2 years ago, this will be the first time I've attended, since I had an annual commitment as a vendor at an area music festival. For some reason, this year, the festival is a week later than graduation. What a nice opportunity to honor my former students! Congratulations & best wishes to all of them as they begin the next chapter of their lives!
I had a wonderful time at the ceremony & took several photos of my students. To respect their privacy, however, I won't be sharing them, publicly.
I saw these lovely blooms on a large bush on the grounds of the Hermitage Museum & Gardens in Norfolk, Virginia, USA on June 5, 2013. I thought it was gardenia, at the time, but, now, I'm unsure. Flower experts, help!
