On the bus, I was sitting next to Hugh Anthony, when we started talking about the weather. We happened to share more or less the same meaning for a good weather and that day was a good fit for it.
Hugh Anthony is a PhD student at University of Waterloo. His area of research is recreation and leisure studies. He likes to work in tourism or fashion industry after graduation. His comprehensive exam is coming up. He was surprised to know that mine too is close. We each wished the other good luck on the exam!
Hugh Anthony lives in Toronto and there he is the executive manager of a charity. He commutes between the two cities once or twice a week.
Speedy graduated from puppy school on Saturday. He executed the commands quite well and even performed another special trick (shaking paws). Unfortunately, he doesn't play well with others. The teacher was always giving him low marks for deportment. I think he is intimidated by all dogs larger than him and any that are contained in some way. He was much better than when I first took him, but he probably needs remedial classes.
Another interesting thing I have discovered about the little guy is that he doesn't adapt well to change. He barked incessantly at a pink/white dotted overnight bag I had set on the bed. I didn't realize at first that the bag is what was bothering him until I moved it out into the kitchen. Then he went out there to bark at it some more, eyeing it suspiciously the whole time.
Anyway, this is my loveable little neurotic, showing his good side at graduation.

A unique graduation today, due to a power outage the BESS class to the great outdoors to celebrate their accomplishments.
The U.S. Naval Submarine School hosted a graduation ceremony for Basic Enlisted Submarine students at Wilkinson Hall aboard the U.S. Naval Submarine Base New London in Groton, Connecticut, June 30, 2023.
BESS prepares Sailors for the fleet by teaching them the basic theory behind the construction and operation of nuclear-powered submarines, including ship systems, organization, and safety.
