For the first time since 2019, Commonwealth returned to our traditional venue, First Church in Boston, for graduation this June. Family and friends enjoyed poignant and wonderfully weird remarks from senior speakers Ilaria Seidel ’22 and Thomas Fomin ’22, as well as a transcendent performance from soprano Dina Pfeffer ’22 and oboist Nia Suresh ’22, before spilling into the courtyard for joy-filled photos.

Every at our graduation we give students a piece of sculpture created by Iain Cotton art. Each year they get a different take. This year's was very poignant. He says "“In the wake of the pandemic, stepping out into ministry feels a bit like stepping out onto shifting sands.”
This years awards take on this theme of shifting sands. The stones themselves are cut from Capton Red Sandstone. Ancient compressed desert. Carved into tough landscapes with shifting dune topographies.
These stones are traversed by gilded texts; fragments of an ancient prayer of the Church that seems a good fit for these strange days. Kyrie Eleison. Kyrie Eleison. Kyrie eleison.

Sometimes, my daughter surprises even me.
This is where I can find my joy and passion for life again. She is my everything!
Tonight was her kindergarten graduation. Yeah, they are a little cheeseball, but man was it fun and emotional.
I love this kiddo. And I'm so proud of her.
She never told us she was going to be singing and the main narrator for graduation. She nailed every line and genuinely had fun with all of it. You never know pride until you have a kiddo to be proud of.
P.S. Make sure you stick around watching until the 20 second and 50 second marks. Those are the solo verses she sings. :-D
