The man in this shot is my eldest son, Daniel, who is now living and working in London. Even university graduates, like himself, are not finding it easy to find good jobs these days but after 70 applications he got three job offers in a week. So the message is, keep the faith. There is light at the end of the tunnel.
I captured this shot during Jackson's high school graduation which took place in the Utah Valley University auditorium. They kept the lights over the crowd of graduates frustratingly dim, however, this blond girl in the photo appeared to have a beam of light on her from somewhere. The illumination really made her stand out and glow. Her very blond hair also had something to do with it. Overall the ceremony was about 2 1/2 hours so it was tough to still seem interested by the end.

Well I still have to wait to get the papers done and the ceremony won't be until October (that's why there are not pictures of me in robes), but I have completed all the courses and projects with great grades, so I'm officialy a Physicist! =D
Unfortunately I still have things to do, as I have to prepare for the master Astrophysics courses. But the amount of free time has increased notoriously so I'll be able to resume my usual posting scheme! Yay! <3
Matthew graduated from preschool last week. Graduated, really? I'm reminded of the lines in Pixar's The Incredibles:
Bob: "It's not a graduation. He is moving from the 4th grade to the 5th grade."
Helen: "It's a ceremony!"
Bob: "It's psychotic! They keep creating new ways to celebrate mediocrity..."
Either way, of course I'm proud of him, and equally so he is so proud of himself. It truly is a big deal for him -- not to mention that I simply cannot believe this little guy is about to start Kindergarten. How time flies...
Recently i've been making the most of the crop fields near to where me and my girlfriend live. This time of year they offer decent foreground interest with the crops and trees and the wide open skies can be quite dramatic!

My oldest son Sam graduated from Purdue this weekend. A proud moment for us all. Here he is in his cap and gown giving his younger brother a pre commencement bear hug. I think we have the Christmas photo taken care of!

It's official. The last exam has been written and she has graduated with distinction from high school. I am so proud of my girl. She's worked hard and is getting ready to take on the world. But first, we celebrate
