I am coming from Chennai, southern part of India.
I am in Year 2 of PhD under supervision of Prof. Ghoshal in the Dept. of civil engineering and applied mechanics.
My research area is “Environmental Engineering” and I study the treatment of contaminated groundwater with the help of bacteria and nanoparticles.

Research interest:
My research interest includes theoretical and experimental research related to the field of water resource and environmental engineering with an emphasis on groundwater fate and transport, environmental implication of nanotechnology, groundwater contamination and quality control using advanced technologies. My interests also include simulation and modeling of salt-water intrusion and costal salinity, application of optimization in groundwater-surface water interaction and usage in multiple scales.

Both labs fall under the Sienko Research Group, led by Kathleen Sienko, an Arthur F Thurnau Professor and associate professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Michigan

Mathew Boban, Graduate Student Research Assistant, Materials Science and Engineering, drops hexadecane oil onto a glass slide with a superomniphobic coating. The petroleum based, highly viscous lubricant slides easily off the slide, opening up applications like self-cleaning windows, ink jet printers and microfluidic devices.

Hannah Weiss, a PhD student in industrial and operations engineering, using AURORA, the Augmented Reality Operations Readiness Assessment, in her lab Engineering Research Building on the North Campus of the University of Michigan on Wednesday, April 6, 2022.
Weiss said the research focuses on the development and preliminary validation of an augmented reality system and wearable sensors to assess balance and hand-eye coordination performance. The implication of this research extends into applications for both the aerospace industry for astronaut populations and the medical field as it relates to aging populations and individuals with balance disorders.

Kevin Lieberman, (U-M PhD ’22) demonstrates work he did supporting trust calibration and attention management in human‐machine teams in the lab at the Industrial and Operations Engineering Building on the North Campus of the University of Michigan on Wednesday, April 6, 2022.
Lieberman used eye tracking as one of the measures to infer a person's trust in simulated unmanned aerial vehicles. In the background is post-doc student Akshay Bhardwaj, in mechanical engineering. He’s working on a project with the Toyota Research Institute, looking at the design of haptic feedback in autonomous driving vehicles. To the right is Karanvir Panesar, a PhD student in industrial and operations engineering, studying how operators manage frequent and nested interruptions in single-operator multi-agent environments.
