Just going through the wayback machine and thinking about Diane's pending move to Iowa City. This season of Girls has made me remember with fondness this 2005 trip to Iowa City. Here's Amy in the house on Brown Street, I think, on the morning after her 30th birthday.
Our group of WFU friends was gloriously reunited at Jen and Rachel’s (and it felt so good!) after being apart since before Christmas. The gathering was extra awesome because Scott and his wife Kelly had a baby daughter over break and they brought her by to say hello—she is beautiful (button noise, chubby cheeks) and beautifully named (Maeve).
The indignity of being a grad student:

Today has been a truly magnificent day. Got to spend the morning chillin with a good friend...took the day off of work...AND I received my acceptance letter to the U of Washington library science program!!

I started a graduate library science program in Fall 2007, and I was hyped up about the first day of school--so much so that I thought a photodocumentary of the day was in order. My plan did not survive contact with the enemy--both the photodocumentary and the grad school plans. In any case, I started out at the beginning: my bookbag on the kitchen chair.

امروز تو يه کنفرانس مطبوعاتي اتفاقي يکي از همکلاسيهاي دوران ابتداييم و ديدم . جالب اينجاست که موقعي کنفراس خيلي قيافش واسم آشنا بود ولي نمي دونستم اين تشابه ذهني واسه چيه و بعد که اسامي افراد رو دست همکارم ديدم (ما جماعت عکاس آخه يجا که بند نمي شيم اينجور موقع ها ) تازه متوجه شدم خانم فريبا بيدري همکلاس 20 و خورده اي سال پيش ابتداي ايه
او شاگرد زرنگ و باهوشي بود . الان خبرنگار يکي از نشرياته .. البته اصلا وقت نشد ببنمش .حتي سلام عليک داشته باشيم ... شايد هم اون اصلا منونشناخته بود .. ..... زمان چه زود مي گذره و لي زمان تحصيل ما دوران خاصي بود . دوران بهبوهه جنگ تحميلي بود و آموزش تو اون زمان در بدترين شرايط ممکن و زورکي ... خشک و بي روح ... آخه جنگ همه چيرو تهت الشعاع خودش قرار داده بود ( يادمه عموي اين همکلاسيون هم همون سالها شهيد شده بود ) ... هيچ چيز خاص ديگه اي از اون زمان يادم نيست ...
