This male Cape May Warbler is a long way from its wintering grounds in the Caribbean. A mega rarity, first sighting of this species in this part of British Columbia.

After a little incident the the other week when he decided to snap the long line and end up in the middle of nowhere on a snowy hillside wrapped round a tree and spending a rather cold night alone (not that he was bothered in the least it seemed) I've invested in one of these little gadgets. .. all I can say is wow! (pitpat) I suppose it also means my other half can always see where I am ... and be impressed with my fortitude when she sees me zooming up and down the hills!! :)

My third day on Seoul. A morning where I still hang in the surrounding neighborhoods "Gallery K" where I expose. Art seems to me here and everywhere, appearing in so many forms. Here too, as in Tokyo, buildings can be entirely dedicated to a single gallery. Water and gas on all floors. In one of them, where I would not cross a living soul on 4 floors. I will finish on his terrace to succumb to the intoxication of the place and the city. After a delicious lunch consisting mostly of a chicken cooked in broth, stuffed with flavored rice, I go to the Embassy of the United States, through building 119, just to take the temperature following the huge demonstration of the day before. Quiet flat, cops everywhere. There is also the huge royal palace of Gyeongbokgung. A place where everything is vast. Here the mystery is established step by step before your eyes. I will enter the next day and will even attend the lifting of his guard. A little later after a new shower at the hotel, I will resume my wandering walk in the night of Seoul. The GPS will be my compass in places that I can not name, sorry.

Still together in work train service, CMQ 9017 & CMQ 9011 lead CP GPS-03 over the St. Lawrence River. Up front are loaded ballast cars picked up from the VTR interchange at Whitehall and behind is mixed freight from Saratoga Springs.
As my GPS unit is prone to do, it gave me directions that were a little off. But what can you expect, when GPS stands for Gwendolyn, Phillip and Stuart. (the voice is set to the English accent). It turned out well though because it added an extra mile to the hike with some nice scenery like this little stream in the woods. Anchorage, Alaska, USA, November 2021

The bust of Nicholas Baudin commemorates the bicentennial of the Baudin Expedition. It overlooks Geographe Bay, Baudin’s first anchorage, which was named for his ship, the Géographe. The bust was donated by the Terra Australis Committee as part of a project which charted the voyage of Nicholas Baudin along points of his famous journey. Mauritius, Tasmania and now Busselton are just some of the locations which feature the distinctive artworks.
The expedition reached Australia in May 1801. In April 1802 they encountered the British ship Investigator captained by Matthew Flinders, also engaged in charting the coastline, in Encounter Bay in what is now South Australia. The expedition later stopped at the British colony of Sydney for supplies, where Baudin bought a new ship Casuarina . From there he sent Naturaliste back to France, carrying all the specimens that the expedition had collected to that point. From Sydney, the remaining ships headed to Tasmania, before continuing north to Timor. On their way home the ships stopped in Mauritius, where Baudin died of tuberculosis.
