It's not what you thought
when you first began it.
You got what you want.
Now you can hardly stand it, though,
by now you know, it's not going to stop.
It's not going to stop.
It's not going to stop
'til you wise up.

This was a Do Not Enter sign referring to a driveway, but what it you were really small and had to look up.... then the sky is out of bounds... no?
today was a rainy, cold winter day like any other. i went to go and get my hair done, and wandered a bit when i remembered my friend had told me of a store nearby with lots of cool things.
what a treat to meet someone who has such art in his shop. abdullah is the owner, and he was ever gracious and helpful. AND he is a photographer, as well. we fiddled with our cameras and lenses and chatted. he offered me tea and candy as gifts for coming into the shop.
he gave me the gift.
this is my picture for february 18, 2011

Święta Krowa
Poznan, Poland
Recently, I had the opportunity to work with the wonderful folks at Święta Krowa, a small hamburger restaurant here in Poznan. Not only did I get to photograph them (which was a ton of fun), but I also provided the recipe for the featured Burger..The Cowboy! Getting to utilize my restaurant/hotel background and art background all in the same place is always a pleasure! I recommend stopping by if you are in Poznan for a delicious treat and to say hello.
For the shoot, they wanted something a bit retro in feel. Enjoy.

here are shores, then there are beaches, and then there's Paradise!
Well worth the tiring trek to get to this beach! I was also a few beers down so that helped. (Lol) This was the last pic clicked by my beloved Nikon before the shutter gave way after 3 years of timelapse use! You served me well dear 610. Come back from service soon!
Long exposure achieved using the @alpinelabs

Day 169/365
"Friends Gothering"
I was just having instant idea of capturing my friends while they are playing cards...but from different angel ;)
Strobist Info: 580EX II in TTL +3 mode pointed to the ceiling on the camera.
Shooting Triggered via PocketWizard MiniTT1 and FlexTT5.
Shaky universe. Alcohol makes it possible!
Gazing at the night skies of Phobjika whilst shivering in biting cold, and obviously one full bottle of the Druk1100 beer -downed to keep warm and thereby, sabotaging the will to stand straight. It was time to go to bed.

Gotherington West Station
Gothering Station was opened by the Great Western Railway in 1906. The station opened as Gotherington on 1 June 1906; it was renamed Gotherington Halt on 1 December 1940, and was closed on 13 June 1955. It was the first station to close on this route (most of the other stations closed in 1960). The line itself remained open until 1976. The track was later lifted by 1979.
The line was relaid by the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway, during the mid-1990s reaching Gotherington in 1997. Trains recommenced the same year, and were extended to Cheltenham Racecourse in April 2003.
The station buildings are privately owned, so trains use the opposite platform. During major events the private garden is opened to passengers and the station house becomes a tea room. A short length of track in the garden allows rides on a Wickham or pump trolley.

A "peak" out the window(quite literally). Somewhere enroute Kalpa
Last year around this exact time, we took a break from work and the city, and packed our bags and headed to Spiti to witness its glory and return with our hearts and hard disks full of beautiful images. And before we knew it, things went full-swing and we found ourselves eating and sleeping to the sound of camera shutter, day and night. Not a bad prospect if you ask me. :) We'd cover distances through day, stay up late at night to capture skies and stars. And in between those long naps in the car, we'd wake up to views that'd make us feel it was still a dream. For someone who has not ever witnessed the magnitude of this landscape, this can be almost like running out of breath to describe to themselves...and we'd take a picture just so that we could look at it later when fully awake. We'd still end up being awestruck.
It definitely wasnt all rosy, for there were a few downers as well. From going to the region in peak tourist season(nightmare for timelapse with flocking tourists like myself), to trusting a bad tour operator to run(ruin) this trip for us (yes, this too), what happened over the next 15 days or so was an experience in itself.
My work from this trip will soon make its way to a visible outlet for everyone to see, and I will attempt to bring bits of this journey to light all this month. Trying to get this project to closure was a task too, but thats a story for another day. I'd often go through these folders, try to stitch the visuals in my head and it'd make me feel just the same way it did when we looked out the window, a year ago. Amazed.

[1/2]Hello! Are you hiding? *Nods*
You wont show your face or say hi? *Nods*
So you wont give me some of that chocolate? *Hand extends* Take!
Perfectly sums up the warm and hospitable Bhutanese, yet so shy and soft spoken in their ways.
Had the best meal, while incessantly pleading with this little angel for a nice smiley photograph and it was time to hit the road again. But before I said goodbye, something wonderful happened. (Stay tuned lol)

If you are pretty much sleepy through the day and awake through the night, it means one of two things 1. You could be batman 2. You can be a good candidate to capture night skies.
