I knew the squirrel was nearby, so I put 2 hazelnuts on the path. I didn't have to wait long until the little guy came running. Reflexively I pressed the shutter and .... Gotcha!
Since it is a single shot (no continuous shooting), I am a little proud of this picture. It was my first good photo of a squirrel in motion. Of course, there was also a bit of luck involved ;-)
Thanks a lot for your faves and comments!
It's very much appreciated!

For Macro Mondays' #mesh theme
I was very focused on trying to catch one of these bubbles but they had a tendency to pop really quickly. but joy that I found I'd caught one with a reasonable focus, and that it also had a little rainbow in!
The mesh is a black net that normally holds some kneepads for a skateboard my kids never used. Image is approx. 2inches across.
I was surprised how many meshes I found round the house (babybels anyone?), and in such a variety of colours. But they were surprisingly tricky to work with. And gutted that I didn't think to go outside and use the netting round the fruit cage with an in-bloom camellia behind it. Interesting challenge.
Went photographing eagles the other day. This is one of my favorite poses when they reach into the water so swiftly yet steadily to snatch a fish.

During our most recent trip to Florida we were lucky enough to have this Reddish Egret and a white morph entertain us on a few early mornings with their elaborate fishing techniques. Pretty successful they were too!
Taken near Fort Myers.
As always, thank you so much for stopping by and for leaving any comments or faves, they are very much appreciated.
Tomada a pulso con el 24-240, el bichillo a unos cuantos metros y yo intentando pillarlo... Se paraba a ratos, lo encuadraba, se marchaba, y así hasta que pude enfocarlo y disparar en un momento de suerte.

This little fellow kept hovering around me but with too many destructions around I couldn't focus until it hovered against the sky and then I got him, well almost :-))

About five months ago, I was at my local forest preserve just before sunset. As I was leaving, I noticed a raccoon exiting this hole in the tree. Every time I went back to this preserve, I would always check this tree for activity, with no luck. Yesterday, I was there in search of butterflies. About thirty minutes before sunset, I decided to leave, but not before checking this tree again. I set up about twenty feet away from the hole and waited. It was getting pretty dark, and I was just about ready to give up when this guy poked his head out. I got one shot before he quickly retreated. Kane County, Illinois

A Koi doesn't stand a chance against this sharp-eyed hunter..... orange is not the best colour for a fish.
In actual fact he missed this one, doesn't happen very often with these skilful flight-stirs, The Rainbow Bee-eater.
