Here's the story: I accidentally smashed my $1,600 24mm 1.4 L-lens after taking it ouf of my backpack. Since I always look on the bright side of things, I saw this as a challenge to grow. Let's create a set with a broken cam that can't even focus anymore. This is what I came up with:

A trippy & abstract photo set dipped in red about broken characters captured with a broken lens by a former broken soul. I took this set in the drug-filled, sex-addicted veins of the most liberal city on earth: Amsterdam! An incredibly intense 3-week journey of getting to know all drug dealers and sex workers personally, feeling the liberating, but sometimes rather creepy vibe on the streets and eventually being accepted as the creative soul of this unique district.

I'm not kidding. That photo very much looked like that, because he was sitting in front of a very dark garage. Just increased the contrast a little to get that minimal look. I really wanted one photo of the "asian squat", which is, after some failed attempts, very comfortable.

This photo and the previous one (Bluebirds) were taken two days ago, on 25 June 2016, when I drove SW of the city to possibly meet friends. No one was sure how bad the weather was going to be, as the forecast was for rain and thunderstorms. It had rained overnight, so everywhere was soaking wet. Normally, on a day like that, I stay home, but I'm really glad I did go, especially as I was able to find a Bobolink again. Or, perhaps I should say it found me. Three times now, when I have been photographing a particular pair of Mountain Bluebirds, I have heard a certain persistent call, turned around, and there was a Bobolink sitting on a fence post across the road. It just kept up this call until I stopped what I was doing, crossed the road, and started taking photos of him, as if to say: "Hey, take my photo, too!"

I didn't think any friends were going to turn up, as I hadn't seen anything that looked like a small convoy of cars. Then suddenly, one single car came around a distant corner and stopped. Three people got out - Andrew, Tony and Howard. Three people who are excellent birders and who didn't let the weather keep them from doing what they love.

After they had had a far sighting of a Bobolink, I followed them slowly as far as Brown-Lowery Provincial Park, where the day's walk was supposed to take part, stopping to look at various birds along the way, Once there, we parted ways, as I didn't want hours of walking in mud and dripping trees. Instead, I wandered for a few minutes near the parking lot, where I took this lichen photo, and then I returned to the Bluebirds, where the Bobolink reappeared and repeated his behavior, giving me another chance for photos. The Bluebird babies are getting quite noisy and, judging by the number of insects they are being fed, they must be ready to fledge any day now. Which means just one thing - I will have to take another drive, as I couldn't go yesterday (hike plus annual BBQ, NW of the city) and I may not be able to go tomorrow.

Thought I would add a link here, to a video about two local friends (Don and Andrew Stiles, father and son) who have spent many years building bluebird boxes and monitoring Mountain Bluebirds. Inspiring to see the dedication these two people have for the preservation of this beautiful species of bird.

Hey everyone,

I haven't been uploading a lot lately since I've got so much on my plate right now to make my dream come true. I'm working day and night for it. Unfortunately it's all about everything else besides creating art. But if that's what it takes to make the impossible happen, I'm happy to put down my cam for a little while. As soon as I got my new website running I'll grab my cam again to chase golden moments and characters again. God I miss that!

Was searching yesterday to make something cool, so I found this one here and tried it by myself

photoextremist.com/tag/multiplicity

Took me some hours for putting the several notes everywhere into the room and making about 90 pictures and some more, about 7 hours to merge the single photos together to one, but I really think it was worth the effort!

I used a 200€ note, two 100€ notes, eight 50€ notes, two 20€ notes, six 10€ notes and one 5€ note, so all in all 905€

In the photo it should add up to something like a 100.000€ depending on which notes I placed most often

I've been quite intrigued by this spot, having seen so many versions of this place online. I decided to find out where this tide pool was. For the most part of the shoot, it looked like we'd have a bland sky with no clouds, but right before the sun went down, these dragon clouds, for lack of a better name appeared out of nowhere. Their reflections were crisp on the tide pool water and bam, I got the shot I wanted! :)

Here's the shot on 500px : 500px.com/photo/13575435

Shot Details :

Camera : Canon 7D

Aperture : f/25

ISO: 160

Shutter Speed : 1.6s

Quite a rainy and cold weather these days, so wanted to make the best out of it, but worked not bad, I think :) it's not that sharp, but I've done it just with my EF-S 18-200mm and a retro adapter, lense reversed and removed the CA's by just leaving the green parts of the image
