My first shot with my brand new Fujifilm XT1 and a 18mm lens. I love working with it. As I said, I'm going to continue my "human element" with my Fuji and my "Broken" series will be captured with my broken 24mm lens and my old Canon. Enjoy!

I'm proud to present my brand new set I created two days ago on Sunday in a very rural, but wonderful area called Tecklenburg in Northern Germany. It consists of 8 photos. My idea behind this project is my very own visual interpretation of Robert Frost's poem "The Road Not Taken". Every photo of the set has a line or a part of a line as a title.This is the first photo. I hope you like it!

The spotlights were actually in red an yellow which gave the scenery a rather positive vibe. First time I decided to reduce strong colors to B&W, because they didn't help tell the story...Would mean the world to me if you could support me with a like for my Facebook page!

[ Good heavens, if this photo enters flickr explore, I will start a new flickr group. yea yea anyone can start one. Oh, lord, I hope I will get 500 comments ... Oh heavens, I dream of getting 5 - 6 invites .. Oh! Now I have mail everybody about posting this photo, I have to mail few goils, I have give WOW WOW comments to few, oh, I forgot I have to SMS another goil. I will also become famous, I will also do social networking with these photos. Aha. What I need to have is lot of time and money to call people that I have posted the next great photo in history, I need to be some with not much do, addicted to online groups, preferably away from family etc etc. Ha, that reminds me of some people who will make comments like its tilted, its over exposed, lens flare, crop suggestions, over saturated.. phew ! Especially there is a guy who has a buddy icon of fire, well let him make any such comment. This time I will teach him a lesson.
Advice: Photography is all about comments, views and favorites and yes explore, if you haven't learned that yet, do it before its too late.]

I've been there at New Year's Eve and a few days before too and found out that the celestial pole is right above the mountains form that POV there, so I spontaneously used the first day of this year for another long exposure session. Luckily we got clear blue starry skies for a few hours in the evening.

Been there before a few times the last weeks by day and night but today the weather was perfect so I shot some long exposures and stacked the shots together. Wasnt't so much traffic at 9pm saturday night but anyway I think the result is viewable!
My wife has convinced me to again try two different views of the same image. She loves color images, while I love black and white. I figured I'd put it to a vote again to see which prevails. Let me know which you like better, the black and white or color version!
This image was shot along the Sea Wall around Stanley Park in Vancouver BC during a light rain.
D800, 24mm 1.4, 60s @ f/16, ISO 100. Lee Big Stopper and 3 stop hard grad. Processed in Silver Efex Pro 2 and Photoshop CS6.

I had given up on stormy skies in the bay area this winter but now it looks like there is more rain in the forecast. This image was from last evening here in Pacifica. I think the sensor in my camera is starting to go, there was an amazing amount of noise in the red sky for ISO 100. Thank goodness for Lightroom noise reduction! The old Xti has worked well. No money for a replacement so if it goes I'm done. Have a great week!
