As of the week of July 20, 2010, GA changed this view, so that the menu options go across your screen, not down. All of the same options are there, however, in the same order, so you should still be able to find what you need!
I'm finding the Google Analytics Map section to be a lot like DXing. My uncle was very big into ham radio, and he would exchange postcards with the people he contacted. I remember, as a kid, a wall map with these postcards push pinned to it from all the places around the world he had reached. There's a part of Google Analytics Maps that shows the world with dots of the places your viewers are coming from. It's like a 21st century version of my uncle's cork board wall map.

In an effort to decrease my page load time I decided to remove my Whosamungus widget from my sidebar as this really was only for me. I mean it’s a great plugin for showing off, but my site had to load this outside widget every time someone visited. Don’t get me wrong. I do love the Whosamungus widget, but in an effort to keep readers on my page I’ve been working hard to lighten the initial load.
It's that time of year again --to share and show off analytics. I actually have a pretty small community --but they do interact and that matters more.
You can clearly see my business audience swings each week, and then goes away on weekends --I'd often keep posting consistent too. There was a steady increase in visitors throughout the year, including a few spikes on Dec 9th. A few of the post at that time hit some hot topics, showed data, and resulted in many comments.
In the scheme of things, I don't actually get a lot of traffic, but according to compete.com it's more than Gartner.com. siteanalytics.compete.com/gartner.com+web-strategist.com/...
