Indonesian Readers Festival 2011, December 4, 2011,plaza area GOR Soemantri Brodjonegoro, Jakarta
Hosted by Goodreads Indonesia at Pasar Festival, Kuningan. Great event, me, Nulisbuku.com and other writers + book lovers are having a great time!
Here's what I sent to them:
Not really a question, just something that I find amazingly annoying. Every time I add a book, GoodReads asks me to share it on Facebook, Twitter, my blog, paste HTML, or log into my AOL account..
Yes, I'm on Twitter, Facebook, have a blog etc, but the nagging - I can understand that you may consider it as trying to be helpful - is quite counterproductive.
I get it. You want to promote the site. But this constant nagging to share it makes me do the opposite.
Personally, I appreciate services that don't put too many road bumps in my way to share information. Adding a click that I imagine a very low percentage of users use each time is wasting everyone's time. Put a handy "Share this" link beside the entry. You users aren't idiots. We can find the link.
Thanks.
PS: In case you aren't sure what I mean, here's a screen grab:

Members gathered at the Library (shown above) or logged onto GoodReads.com from home to participate in a discussion of the novel, the author's writing process, and the inspiration for the novel. The Q&A will continue through March 15, 2010. Join the discussion at:
