Castle "De Trompenburgh" is an important estate in 's-Graveland, probably built by Daniël Stalpaert for Admiral Cornelis Tromp, son of the legendary Admiral Maarten Harpertsz Tromp. The mansion has the shape of a ship and is surrounded by water. From the roof, designed as a ship's deck, the view extended to the Zuiderzee. Admiral Tromp received guests in this house during the summer months.
Trompenburgh is a special building from the Golden Age, it has survived the centuries almost unchanged. As the little brother of Huis ten Bosch Palace, it is one of the special buildings of 17th-century architecture. Both the design, a house with an octagonal dome and the painted decorations in the interior are of great historical value. The statues of women by the water represent the four seasons.
Our Capital is known Worldwide for its Canals, they have even been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2010. The Amsterdam Canals have a Major role in the rich History of the City. During the Golden Age (1600 – 1700) the canals were built to facilitate the import and export of goods.
Common reed has become more widespread due to human-induced changes in nutrient and salinity levels. It grows at rapid rates, displacing more diverse marsh vegetation, and has come
to symbolize marsh degradation. However, it must be understood that aggressive common reed growth is a symptom of environmental imbalance, and not the cause.

Painting: Banquet at the crossbowmen’s guild in celebration of the treaty of Munster.
Object number: SK-C-2
Measurements: height 232 cm × width 547 cm
Painter: Bartholomeus van der Helst (1613-1670).
Oil on canvas, 1648.
18 June 1648: a banquet is taking place at the Amsterdam crossbowmen’s guild. The occasion was the signing of the Treaty of Münster, which marked an end to the war with Spain. The captains of the civic guard company shake hands as a sign of peace, and the drinking horn is passed around. The poem on the drum proclaims the joy of Amsterdam’s armed militia that their weapons can henceforth be laid to rest.

“Somewhere beyond the Sea
Somewhere waitin’ for me
My lover stands on Golden Sands
And watches the ships that go Sailing
Somewhere Beyond the Sea
She’s there watching for me
If I could fly like birds on high
Then straight into her arms
I’d go Sailing “

The Galgewater is a part of the Oude Rijn in the city of Leiden, and also the name of the street in the Leiden city center along this water.
The name is derived from the gallows that used to stand along this water and where in the old days sentenced to death were hanged.

“Sand dunes gone
Snatched by a Storm
Are the poles really shifting ?
Gypsy rains wash o’er the plains
Wood and Dreams are still drifting
The best of times can still
Somehow be found
Even the worst of Beaches
Will never let you down... “

“My skin is cold (In a sea of random images)
To the human touch (The self-destructing animal)
This bleeding heart's (Waiting for the waves to break)
Not beating much
I murmured a vow of silence and now
I don't even hear when I think aloud
Extinguished by light, I turn on the night
Wear its darkness with an empty smile
I'm creeping back to life
My nervous system all awry
I'm wearing the inside out...”

His house was close to "Het Galgewater" and not far from his house he could see the city carpenter yard.
With seven enlarged works by Rembrandt on seven university buildings in the city center of Leiden, Leiden University shows the bond between the painter and the university.
One of these works can be seen at the academy building of the university.
Rembrandt also studied briefly at the University of Leiden. The university's original registration book from that time states that Rembrandt was enrolled at the university on 20 May 1620. But in all likelihood the registration only takes one year. And the question is whether young Rembrandt will actually attend classes. Did he sometimes register because of additional benefits such as tax-free beer and exemption from service at the militia company? Probably yes, historians assume.
His preference was more for drawing and painting. Around the same time he is apprenticed to the Leiden painter Jacob van Swanenburgh. He learns the art of etching from him. Later Rembrandt starts a studio in Leiden, where he collaborates a lot with his friend, the painter Jan Lievens. He hires students including Gerard Dou. In his Leiden period, Rembrandt mainly made small paintings with allegorical and religious subjects.

Like some other breeds, a Golden's face will begin to turn white the older they get. I have had six Goldens and only one whose face didn't change. Just in the last six months I have noticed Atticus's face begin to whiten. He is 7 1/2, so like the rest of us, he is beginning to show his age. Darn!!!
– A Celebration of Renewal
Color of Spring" is the essence of rebirth and transformation. It marks the awakening of nature, the return of colors, and the promise of new beginnings. We are all made of every color, shaped by the ever-changing hues of life.
This vision echoes in the works of Alphonse Mucha, the Czech master of Art Nouveau. His series The Seasons captures spring’s vitality—soft pastels, blooming flowers, and flowing movement, embodying hope and renewal.
More than a season, Color of Spring is a state of being, an endless cycle of creation, light, and possibility.
Six stately young women stand like sentinels on a marble parapet atop the Athenian Acropolis. They are gazing at the Parthenon, the great temple of Athena that, even in its present ruin, is one of the marvels of the world. Casual and relaxed, the women are balancing a heavy stone roof on their heads. It is a remarkable display of female power: voluptuous curves combined with massive, muscular strength.
Since the Roman era, columns shaped like women have been called caryatids. The word comes from the Spartan city of Caryae, where young women did a ring dance around an open-air statue of the goddess Artemis, locally identified with a walnut tree. Antiquity’s most famous caryatids were these six of the Acropolis.

A truly rare find in a long abandoned farmhouse, classic televisions from the medium's golden age,the 1950's....
The Statenlogement is a monumental building in the center of Hoorn, located at the intersection of five streets. It was built in 1613 and has a double stepped gable. The arms of seven cities adorn the facade: Medemblik, Edam, Alkmaar, Hoorn, Enkhuizen, Monnickendam and Purmerend

Built in 1903, the Boldt Yacht House on Wellesley Island, adjacent to Bolt Castle on Heart Island, housed the Boldt’s family yachts and a houseboat. It also featured a shop to build racing launches and quarters for crew and staff. The building embodies the Golden Age structure’s shingle-style architecture. Inside the Yacht House, you will find a collection of antique wooden boats, courtesy of the Antique Boat Museum located in Clayton, New York. The Boldt Yacht House also features the landmark steam yacht Kestrel. It was designed by D. Crawford and built by George Lawley & Son shipyard in South Boston in 1892. After a succession of several owners, repairs and replacements, it was donated to the Thousand Islands Bridge Authority in 2009 for a permanent display at the Yacht House for the enjoyment of present and future generations. The steam yacht Kestrel is representative of the period and vessels owned and operated by George C. Boldt.
The Boldt Castle Yacht House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
