I took this picture ages ago while discussing the real monsters of the world with my friend Godzilla.
"Nature has a way sometimes of reminding Man of just how small he is. She occasionally throws up terrible offspring of our pride and carelessness to remind us of how puny we really are in the face of a tornado, an earthquake, or a Godzilla. The reckless ambitions of Man are often dwarfed by their dangerous consequences. For now, Godzilla - that strangely innocent and tragic monster - has gone to earth. Whether he returns or not, or is never again seen by human eyes, the things he has taught us remain..."

Photo Locale, ~Dark Lands~ CCS:
Godzilla leaf will fight you.
Don’t think this being is a dried out mess of a thing
a desiccated barely upright leaf.
Because, we make up stories as we go along.
First a book and then a song.
Or a leaf who goes wrong.
We can’t seem to walk right, sleep tight, dance at night.
We have been found out
hiding but emitting a whimper then a shout
still shifting around all corners
We are surely goners.
A sorry decrepit sight.
Listen, do you think Godzilla cares about all this?
Do you think a leaf who cannot wait for the sunrise
because it will cause one to wither
cares about what makes you slither?
No. Just know that
Godzilla will be gone and you’ll still be hither
To invent new enemies and playthings

Sydney tonight at sunset.
Photographed at Cremorne Point Reserve.
Cremorne, Sydney.
Monday, 23rd October, 2023.
The buildings are silhouetted, and the city looks noir, as the sunset burns to the west of the bridge. But the city lights are starting to sparkle. Sydney in October 2023.
Yet, in all, the darkness of the city - most especially the Opera House - reminded me of Godzilla, lurking in wait.

I was sailing along the Costal Waterway in my peace, when I saw a marina to moor the boat. Everything seemed calm as usual, the wind was fine, the sea was calm... the perfect day to sail without major worries.
I point the bow towards the entrance to the marina, thinking that it would be the perfect place to drink a coffee and buy some supplements to take aboard so that nothing is missing on long distance trips... Yes, everything seemed perfect... suddenly...
Near the marina the calm waters start to stir, I start to hear a growl that starts to be louder to the point of being deafening, I was backlit and I see a giant figure emerging from the ocean... I couldn't believe it. .. it was the...

I thought to myself - I'm in trouble, what do I do now?
I tried to get out of there as quickly as I could, but bad luck never comes alone, when I tried to start the boat's engine, it didn't want to work (my fault I didn't do the maintenance in time).
- What to do, I thought? If raising the sails might enrage the beast even more... and I suddenly remembered...
I went down to the cabin, went to the pantry, and knew I had a big hunk of ham that was out of date and was going to be thrown away. I found it, I came to the deck, when I look up I see the beast getting even closer to the boat, I started to imagine that there was no way out... it was the end right there.
I shouted to get his attention, waving the ham to distract him, scared I managed to get the strength to throw the ham at him. As he was slow the ham fell into the water, at that moment some orcas that surrounded the place went straight to the ham which generated some turbulence near Godzilla, and he started to try to look for food at the bottom of the sea.
Seeing that the beast was distracted, I tried for the last time to start the engine. Yessss... it started with some difficulty, a little uncompensated, but it started to work. I walk away from the place still hearing the beast's angry roars, point the bow north, raise the sails (lucky me the wind was SW) and flee from there.
I didn't win for the scare, apart from the fact that I was almost out of provisions and I only had to find another port to rest, stock up on food and try to find out why the engine wouldn't start. It was going to be a long day!
Yes my friends Godzilla is in the oceans of Second Life to torment the navigators who approach that place, so here is my "warning"... go as far away as possible so you don't wake him up

Final thoughts of this tale...
Another story, fruit of my imagination, that came to my mind when I took the picture. I want to thank everyone who "made possible" the wonders of Second Life so that we can all "Dream a Little"
Nino
Well....not exactly. This "little" green iguana was a mere 18 inches and could grow to 5-6 feet in length. At this age, it's really hard to tell if it is a male or female. Best viewed large to see the incredible detail in its scales.
I used On1 Software's new noise reduction app called NoNoise AI and I am very impressed with its ability to eliminate noise and preserve detail. You apply this app to a RAW file before any processing for best results. It converts the file to a DNG and you can then use your normal RAW processor to make edits.
Thanks so much to everyone who takes the time to view, like or comment on my photos!

Photography can be so fun, can't it? So, as we hiked in the Tropic Canyon on the Mossy Cave Trail (Bryce Canyon NP), this hoodoo peaked down at me from behind this tall pine.....just like Godzilla behind a high-rise in Tokyo. I got ya', Godzilla!
Thanks for all your faves and comments everyone!
I really appreciate them!

The 1994 Tohu villian Space Godzilla, reimagined with more alien like qualities, especially H. R. Giger's Xenomorph.

The "Cadini di Misurina" group has been one of my favorite mountains in the Dolomites since I saw it for the first time. Because under certain light and cloud conditions, there are scenes like those you usually only see in fantasy movies. I call this photo "Godzilla" because the "Torre Siorpaes" peak with its jagged peaks around reminds me of that monster from the famous movies.
