I seen this sculpture on the front of a buliding in South Beach, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis. View larger photo to read the words on Sculpture which read... God's providence is our inheritance. [Which is Stornoway's motto]

[Psalm 23:1, The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not be in want.]

[Phillipians 4:19... My God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.]

[Malachi 3:10-11. Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this,” says the LORD of hosts, “if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows. “Then I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruits of the ground; nor will your vine in the field cast its grapes,” says the LORD of hosts.]

3 great things about this place:

1. My kids love dinos

2. A few months after we got married, we were in debt from moving to a new town in a job that paid very little. The week we moved, I became suspicious that I might be pregnant, which was surprising since I was told that would be difficult or impossible for me (we have 4 kids now).

The day I took the test to confirm our suspicions, we got a piece of mail from "Moose Jaw, Canada". It turned out my husband's great Uncle Wally in Moose Jaw was going into a home and wanted to distribute all his wealth before the gov't took it. Having no children, he divided it between the nephews. The amount came to almost the exact debt we had incurred with the move.

We then realized what has since been proven over and over again- that if the Lord blessed us with children He certainly could provide for them and for us.

I have always loved the odd place called Moose Jaw since that crazy day I discovered its existance.

3. Lately we have had a lot of bad things happen. It is so easy to forget the Lord's provision when it seems like He is silent.

The day we found out we no longer had a job when we were in California and needed to get back to Quebec to pack up our things to move to Georgia (and had no money to even eat dinner), we were supposed to go to a pot luck. In a panic, I went to buy canned beans to throw in a pot for the unlucky.

On the way home, the car ran out of gas on a hill on a 6 lane road at traffic time. When my husband came to get me, the gas can he bought had a hole in the funnel and leaked all the gas onto him and the road.

We finally made it back, but long after the pot luck. We spent hours on the phone trying to figure out what to do with our lives while the poor children were left to watch dvd's. Around 7 pm the kids asked when we were going to the pot luck because they were getting hungry. I felt terrible. They had not understood that we missed it. I told them I would figure out something for dinner soon.

Our son said he wanted pizza. Pizza is not really a normal meal for us, so this was an odd desire. The girls began to chime in, saying WE WANT PIZZA! WE WANT PIZZA! The crazed chanting was abnormal for my kids, too, and was beginning to wear me down after the day I'd had. We have rules in our house about rude demands and how they get you no where but in trouble.

I angrily expressed that we could not afford a pizza and that they would have to eat what I gave them.

About that moment, there was a knock at the door. 2 ladies from the pot luck had dropped by because someone had brought pizzas to the dinner and there was a whole large pizza minus one piece left over, and they thought we might like it since we had missed the dinner...

I stood in the doorway holding the pizza box and looked over at my children and said, WELL I HOPE YOU KNOW JESUS LOVES YOU.

The next day an unexpected check came in the mail that paid for our trip back to Quebec. The company we worked for decided to give us the money they had promised to get us home, too, which got us back to Georgia.

I love this picture, taken on the road trip back to Canada, because it reminds me of Moose Jaw, the Pizza story, and that God gave my kids something interesting to see at a gas station in Wisconsin when they were bored out of their minds. Why do we doubt?
