The Word of the Holy Spirit | "God and Man Will Enter Into Rest Together (Part One))"
Introduction
Almighty God says, "As man lacks rest, so does God. When God once again enters into rest, man will also enter into rest. The life in rest is one without war, without filth, without persisting unrighteousness. This is to say that it lacks Satan’s harassment (here “Satan” refers to hostile forces), Satan’s corruption, as well as the invasion of any force opposed to God. Everything follows its own kind and worships the Lord of creation. Heaven and earth are entirely tranquil. This is humanity’s restful life. When God enters into rest, no more unrighteousness will persist upon the earth, and there will be no more invasion of any hostile forces. Humanity will also enter a new realm; he will no longer be a humanity corrupted by Satan, but rather a humanity that has been saved after having been corrupted by Satan."

This is one of the main attractions to the Slab City area. Salvation Mountain was the creation of Slab City resident Leonard Knight. This huge structure is made of adobe and hay. It is three stories tall and runs about two football fields in length. Knight started working on this project in 1984 and continued working on it until he became unable to work any more in 2011.
Knight's message was simple "God is Love." He wanted to share this passion with everyone who came here to visit and is said to give a tour to anyone that asked. Many Bible passages are painted on the structure there is a golden pathway to the top where the cross is located. At the base of the mountain, he created rooms where you could worship or meditate as you visited. If you ever get into the area, this is a must see.
This was a really interesting stop while exploring Slab City. Salvation Mountain was the inspiration of Leonard Knight. He wanted to make a monument to God and when he found out about Slab City, he located the perfect site for his project. He worked on the project from 1984 until 2011.
Some of the mountain isn't accessible any more because of old age issues, but it is still a great place to explore. The latex paint used here is very thick and you can walk on the lower section. You used to be able to walk on the golden pathway all the way to the cross on top of the mountain. There are some old vehicles that also have Bible passages painted on them. If you ever make it out to Slab City, make sure to take the time to stop here and explore.

You have to really go out of your way to catch this piece of Americana Folk Art. About 40 miles southeast of Palm Springs in the middle of nowhere land. Started by one man who has passed but is kept up and repainted yearly with help of tourist donations. I do indeed believe God can be Love no matter what faith your are or even if you are a non-believer. Just try to practice some kindness with those you are around, be a volunteer for goodness when possible and remember all things pass so we might as well leave behind good memories to those who go next. One can fully appreciate this monument only by visiting the site in person. It represents 26 yeas of Leonard Knight proclaiming "God is Love". In 2002 Salvation Mountain was named a National Treasure in the Congressional Record of the United Sates. The mountain has been featured in a number of TV specials and Sean Penn's 2007 film "Into the Wild"
Leonard died in 2014 and the 501(3)(c) "Mountain is now maintained by volunteers.
Salvation Mountain is located East of the Salton Sea between Niland, Slab City and East Jesus, CA.
Leonard Knight has constructed his biblical opus in the southeastern corner of California (near Niland)....it is a very strange place...Leonard is a strange man...but perhaps the excess of religious fervor makes for some interesting images.
