Christian testimonies | Who Was It That Rescued Her Marriage? (Audio Essay)
She had just turned twenty, she had a graceful figure and appeared as pretty as a flower, and there were many suitors pursuing her. But she didn’t pay this any mind until one day when her friend invited her to come out and she by chance met Lin. Lin was almost 6 feet tall, he was tall and handsome, with a dignified bearing. He spoke with humor and with wit, and was able to attract her in an instant. And Lin too was quite interested in her. The two of them started seeing each other very soon, and after a few months they got married. Before long they had a child of their own, and this made her feel very blessed. But good things don’t last forever. Just when she was starting to enjoy everything and long for a beautiful future, she discovered that Lin was not engaging in honest work every day. All day long he was idling about, and he would even go out often and get in fights and gamble. When he returned home, he would pick out faults with her no matter if there was something going on or not. He simply did not care for her or their child. She did not understand why Lin was acting this way. Many times with eyes full of tears she would urge Lin to walk the correct path, but not only did Lin not listen, he would even lash out at her, and one time he even went so far as to nearly choke her to death. She had lost all hope in Lin. Before long, Lin got sentenced to prison for breaking the law, and she had to support herself and their one-and-a-half-year-old child on her own. Her life was full of hardships and dashed hopes. It wasn’t until 2003, when Lin completed his prison sentence and was released, that she was finished with this painful marriage.

Allí estaba intentando creer lo que mis ojos estaban observando, era perfecto, era mi momento, Dios lo hizo para mi. Intentaba ver cada detalle, pero eran demasiados. Cuan inmenso, interminable, incontrolable amor de Dios.

Yesterday I met up with Mike Jones and we drove up to Wright's Lake for sunset. From the valley we could see the beautiful cloud formations stacked up over the sierras so our hopes were high. As the evening progressed the tall poofy clouds moved and the sky transformed into long streaky clouds. (That's the scientific name for them...they are also known as "swoopty-doo" clouds)
It was a nice sunset.
REALLY....NICE.
I took a ridiculous number of shots and after much deliberation I finally decided to process one of the last clicks of the day. It was pretty dark at this point so I wasn't able to bring up much shadow detail, but I kinda like the moody contrasty feel of it.
When I go out shooting I ALWAYS ask the Lord for an amazing light show. He always answers my prayers. Sometimes the answer is "no". Sometimes it's "wait". I think this time the answer was......."ok, this one's for Mikey"
Todas las cosas por él fueron hechas, el pequeño número de estrellas que podemos percibir entre los millones de millones que existen, nos da una idea de las débil percepción que tenemos del poder y del amor de Dios. ¿Cómo medir cuánto nos ama ?

I found out that to follow Christ', I need to carry the cross as well. It is hard & heavy but I have to believe that I can. For He said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."
So we may say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?" Hebrews 3:5, 6
And some of you had written me telling that you have had problems too. And it's one thing we all share. We all have problems. We only differ in how we face them. Few are strong. Some are doing fine. And probably, a lot are weak.
We just need to believe that God will help us. That God will never give us problems that we cannot solve. We should ask Him all the time for answers through prayers. And since He created us, He knows our needs even before we ask Him. And He will provide them in time of His choosing. Just have faith and be strong and be patient.
So, we do need God. And I've heard that God is Good. Amen.

Why do we call it ‘Good’ Friday?
Calling the day of the Crucifixion ‘Good’ Friday is a designation that is peculiar to the English language. In German, for example, it is called Karfreitag. The Kar part is an obsolete word, the ancestor of the English word care in the sense of cares and woes, and it meant mourning. So in German, it is Mourning Friday. And that is what the disciples did on that day—they mourned. They thought all was lost.
I’ve read that the word good used to have a secondary meaning of holy, but I can’t trace that back in my etymological dictionary. There are a number of cases in set phrases where the words God and good got switched around because of their similarity. One case was the phrase God be with you, which today is just good-bye. So perhaps Good Friday was originally God’s Friday. But I think we call it Good Friday because, in pious retrospect, all that tragedy brought about the greatest good there could be.
I can see virtue in either terminology. If we call it Mourning Friday, as in German, we are facing reality head on, taking up the cross if you will, fully conscious that the Christian walk is seldom a walk in the park. But if we call it Good Friday, as in English, we are confessing the Christian hope that no tragedy—not even death—can overwhelm God’s providence, love, and grace. Either way seems fine to me!
