"However, are the scope and the standard of God’s salvation of man in that time the same as those of today? The answer is that certainly there is a difference between them! Why do I ask this? Although in that time only Noah was a just man in God’s eyes, which implies that his children and his wife were not just men, God left them alive because of Noah. God did not make requirements of them according to what he requires of man now. Rather, he left all the eight members of Noah’s family alive. They were blessed by God because of Noah’s righteousness. Without Noah, none of them could possibly accomplish that commission of God, so Noah was the only man who should be left alive when the world was destroyed that time, while others were just favored specially. It can be seen that in that time when God had not formally carried out his management work, the principle and the standard by which God treated man and made requirements of man were comparatively “lenient.” In the eyes of the people today, God treating the eight members of Noah’s family in that way, he seems to be not “just and fair.” As far as the great many works God does on the people today and the great many words God speaks to them are concerned, God’s “treatment” of the eight members of Noah’s family was only a principle of working God adopted under the background of his work at that time. In comparison, who of the people today and the eight members of Noah’s family have gained more from God?" from A Continuation of The Word Appears in the Flesh

Pondering the words of God and praying over the words of God at the same time as eating and drinking the actual words of God—this is the first step to being at peace before God. If you can be truly at peace before God, then the enlightenment and illumination of the Holy Spirit will be with you.
All spiritual life is achieved by relying on being quiet before God. In praying you must be quiet before God before you can be moved by the Holy Spirit. By being quiet before God when you eat and drink God’s words you can be enlightened and illuminated and be able to achieve truly understanding God’s words. In your usual meditation and fellowship, and when you are drawing close to God with your heart, only when you are quiet before God can you have genuine closeness to God, genuine understanding of God’s love and God’s work, and true thoughtfulness toward God’s intentions. The more you are usually able to be quiet before God the more you can be illuminated, and the more you are able to understand your own corrupt disposition, what you lack, what you should enter, what function you should serve, and where you have defects. All these are achieved by relying on being quiet before God. If you truly reach some depth in being quiet before God, you can touch some mysteries in the spirit, touch on what God at present wants to do on you, touch on deeper understanding of God’s words, and touch on the essence of God’s words, on the substance of God’s words, on the being of God’s words, and you can see the path of practice more thoroughly and more accurately. If you cannot be quiet in your spirit to a certain depth, you will just be somewhat moved by the Holy Spirit, inside you will feel strength, and some enjoyment and peace, but you will not touch anything deeper. I have said before, if one does not use all their strength, it will be difficult for them to hear My voice or see My face. This refers to achieving depth in being quiet before God, not to external effort. A person who can truly be quiet before God is able to free themselves from all worldly ties and can achieve being occupied by God. All people who are unable to be quiet before God are assuredly dissolute and unrestrained. All who are able to be quiet before God are people who are pious before God, people who yearn for God. It is only people who are quiet before God who pay attention to life, pay attention to fellowship in spirit, who thirst for God’s words, and who pursue the truth. All those who pay no attention to being quiet before God, who do not practice being quiet before God are vain people who are completely attached to the world, who are without life; even if they say they believe in God they are just paying lip-service. Those God ultimately perfects and completes are people who can be quiet before God. Therefore, people who are quiet before God are people graced with great blessings. People who during the day take little time to eat and drink God’s words, who are completely preoccupied with external affairs, and do not pay attention to life entry are all hypocrites with no prospect of developing in the future. It is those who can be quiet before God and genuinely commune with God who are God’s people.

"When Noah did the things according to what God commanded him, he did not know what God’s will was or know what God would accomplish. God only gave him a charge, commanding him what he should do, without much explanation, and he just did according to it. He did not guess God’s intention secretly, and he did not have resistance against or have a double heart toward God, but he just did according to what God commanded him with a pure and simple heart, and whatever God told him to do, he did it. Obeying and listening to God’s word was the conviction behind his doing things. He was just so straightforward and so simple toward God’s commission." from A Continuation of The Word Appears in the Flesh

If we reject Almighty God’s work of judgment, can we become someone who does the heavenly Father’s will and enter the kingdom of heaven?
Q&A about Being Saved and Full Salvation (7)
Answer: If we only accept the Lord Jesus’ redemptive work in the Age of Grace, but reject Almighty God’s work of judgment and chastisement in the last days, then we can never free from sin and become someone who does heavenly Father’s will and enters God’s kingdom. This is beyond doubt! Because Jesus’ work in the Age of Grace was redemption, He only gave man the way of repentance, according to the stature of people at that time, and let them understand some apparent truths and ways to practice. For example, confessing and repenting, bearing the cross, being patient and humble, sharing love, fasting, and baptizing. These are limited truths that people during that time could receive and achieve. As to other deeper truths for man’s disposition to be transformed, and for man to be purified, saved and perfected and so on, the Lord Jesus did not express them. It’s because people of that time had too small stature to bear them. Only when the Lord Jesus returns to work in the last days, will He bestow all the truth for the corrupt mankind to be saved and perfected, according to God’s management plan to save man and the needs of the corrupt mankind. As the Lord Jesus said, “I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.” (John 16:12-13) The words of Lord Jesus are very clear that in the Age of Grace, He didn’t give corrupt mankind all of the truths they needed for their salvation. There are many higher and deeper truths, the truths that free man from his corrupt disposition and make him holy, and truths such as obeying God and knowing God. He didn’t tell them these things in the Age of Grace. So, Almighty God has expressed these truths about saving man in the last days to judge, chastise, purify, and perfect all those who accept His salvation of the last days. Finally, He’ll make them complete and bring them into God’s kingdom. Only then will God’s management plan to save man be thoroughly accomplished. If one only accepts the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus but rejects Almighty God’s work of judgment in the last days, he can never gain the truth and have his disposition transformed, nor become one who does God’s will, much less be qualified to enter God’s kingdom.
In the last days, mankind has been fully corrupted by Satan, filled with satanic poisons within. Mankind’s views, rules of living, outlook on life, and values are all against the truth and in opposition to God. They worship evil and have become God’s enemies. For a mankind so consumed with Satan’s corrupt disposition, if they are not severely judged, chastised, burned and purified by Almighty God’s word, how can they rebel against Satan and break free of its influence? How can they fear God and shun evil and become one who does God’s will? As we know, many long-time believers in the Lord passionately testify that Jesus is the Savior and labor hard for years. But because they don’t know God’s righteous disposition and have no fear of God, when Almighty God carries out His work of the last days, they judge and condemn God’s work, deny and reject God’s return, and even re-crucify the returned Christ in the last days. Such facts are compelling evidence that if man rejects God’s judgment and chastisement of the last days, the root of his sinning and his satanic nature can never be resolved, and all mankind will perish because they resist God. This is an undeniable fact! While believing in God, only if one accepts God’s judgment and chastisement in the last days can he gain the truth as his life, and become one who does the heavenly Father’s will, can he know God, be compatible with Him, and be qualified to enjoy God’s promises and be brought into His kingdom.

Zhong Xin is a preacher at a house church in Mainland China. He has believed in the Lord for many years, and has been suffering capture and persecution of the CCP. He hates the CCP deeply and has already seen clearly that the CCP is a satanic regime treating God as its enemy. In recent years, he has seen that the Chinese Communist government and the religious world have persisted in wildly condemning, capturing, and persecuting the Church of the Eastern Lightning. But the Eastern Lightning not only survives, but also continues to thrive and grow. He thinks it is unbelievable and starts to reflect: Is the Eastern Lightning the appearance and work of the Lord? Zhong Xin also finds that what the CCP and the religious world speak to condemn the Eastern Lightning are all rumors and lies. In order to find out the truth, he leads brothers and sisters to investigate the Eastern Lightning. After the fellowship of the preachers fromthe Church of Almighty God, most of them firmly believe that the words expressed by Almighty God are the truth and the voice of God. Almighty God is the return of the Lord Jesus. However, the Church of Almighty God is suppressed and condemned by the Chinese Communist government and is wildly opposed and condemned by the religious pastors and elders. Faced with this situation, some are confused: Since the work of Almighty God is the true way, why does it suffer the furious resistance and condemnation of those in power and the religious world? Through reading Almighty God's words and listening to the fellowship of the preachers from the Church of Almighty God, these brothers and sisters understand the source of mankind's resistance of God, and see clearly that why the road to the heavenly kingdom is so perilous. They have discernment in the truth-hating and God-opposing essence of the satanic CCP regime and the religious leaders. In the end, Zhong Xin and others free themselves from the control and bondage of Satan's influence without hesitation. They accept Almighty God's work in the last days and truly return before God's throne.

"God is the Master of the rules that control the universe, He controls the rules that govern the survival of all things, and He also controls the universe and all things such that they can live together; He makes it so they do not go extinct or disappear so that mankind may continue to exist, man can live in such an environment through God’s leadership. These rules that govern all things are under the dominion of God, however, mankind cannot intervene and cannot change them; only God Himself knows these rules and only He Himself manages them. When will the trees sprout, when will it rain, how much water and how many nutrients will the earth give the plants, in what season will the leaves fall, in what season will the trees bear fruit, how much energy will the sunlight give the trees, what will the trees exhale from the energy they get from the sunlight—these are all things that God had already arranged when He created the universe and they are laws that cannot be broken by man. The things created by God—whether they are living or appear to be non-living by people—are all in God’s hands and under His dominion. No man can change or break this rule. That is to say, when God created all things He formulated how they should be. The tree could not set down roots, sprout, and grow without the earth. What would the earth be like if it had no trees? It would dry out. Isn’t this right? (Yes.) Also, the tree is the home of the songbirds, it is a place where they take shelter from the wind. Would it be OK if the tree went without sunlight? (It would not be OK.) If the tree only had the earth that would not work. All of this is for mankind and for mankind’s survival. Man receives fresh air from the tree, and lives upon the earth protected by it. Man cannot live without sunlight, man cannot live without all the various living beings. Even though the relationships between these things are complex, people must clearly understand that God created the rules that govern all things so that they may exist in an interconnected and interdependent way; every single thing He created has value and significance. If God created something without significance, God would let it disappear. Understand? (Yes.) This is one of the methods He used in the provision of all things. What does “provide for” refer to in this story? Does God go out and water the tree every day? Does the tree need God’s help to breathe? (No.) “Provide for” in this instance refers to God’s management of all things after creation; all He needed were rules to keep things running smoothly. The tree grew all by itself by being planted in the earth. The conditions for it to grow were all created by God. He made the sunlight, the water, the soil, the air, and the surrounding environment, the wind, frost, snow, and rain, and the four seasons; these are the conditions that the tree needs in order to grow, these are things that God prepared. So, is God the source of this living environment? (Yes.) Does God have to go out every day and count each leaf on the trees? There’s no need, right? God also doesn’t have to help the tree breathe. God also doesn’t have to wake up the sunlight every day by saying, “It’s time to shine on the trees now.” He doesn’t have to do that. The sunlight shines down on its own as prescribed by the rules, it shines on the tree and the tree soaks it in. This is how things live within the rules. Perhaps this is a phenomenon you might not be familiar with, but it is a fact everyone has seen and has accepted. All you need to do is recognize that the rules for the existence of all things come from God and know that their growth and survival are under God’s dominion. This proves that God is the source for all life."

The Creator Expressed His True Feelings for Humanity
This conversation between Jehovah God and Jonah is without a doubt an expression of the Creator’s true feelings for humanity. On one hand it informs people of the Creator’s understanding of all of nature under His command; as Jehovah God said, “And should not I spare Nineveh, that great city, wherein are more then six score thousand persons that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also much cattle?” In other words, God’s understanding of Nineveh was far from a cursory one. He not only knew the number of living things within the city (including people and livestock), He also knew how many could not discern between their right and left hands—that is, how many children and youths were present. This is concrete proof of God’s superb understanding of mankind. On the other hand this conversation informs people of the Creator’s attitude toward humanity, which is to say the weight of humanity in the Creator’s heart. It is just as Jehovah God said: “You have had pity on the gourd, for the which you have not labored, neither made it grow; which came up in a night, and perished in a night: And should not I spare Nineveh, that great city…?” These are Jehovah God’s words of blame toward Jonah, but they are all true.
God places hope on the children of NinevehAlthough Jonah was entrusted with proclaiming Jehovah God’s words to the people of Nineveh, he did not understand Jehovah God’s intentions, nor did he understand His worries and expectations for the people of the city. With this reprimand God meant to tell him that humanity is the product of His own hands, and God has put forth painstaking effort for every single person; every person carries with them God’s hopes; every person enjoys the supply of God’s life; for every person, God has paid a painstaking cost. This reprimand also told Jonah that God cherished humanity, the work of His own hands, as much as Jonah himself cherished the gourd. God would by no means easily abandon them before the last possible moment; moreover, there were so many children and innocent livestock inside the city. When dealing with these young and ignorant products of God’s creation, who could not distinguish their right hands from their left, God was all the more unable to end their lives and determine their outcomes in such a hasty manner. God hoped to see them grow up; He hoped that they would not walk the same paths as their elders, that they would not have to hear Jehovah God’s warning again, and that they would bear witness to Nineveh’s past. Even more so God hoped to see Nineveh after it had repented, to see Nineveh’s future following its repentance, and more importantly, to see Nineveh live under God’s mercy once again. Therefore, in God’s eyes, those objects of creation who could not distinguish between their right and left hands were Nineveh’s future. They would shoulder Nineveh’s despicable past, just as they would shoulder the important duty of bearing witness to Nineveh’s past and future under Jehovah God’s guidance. In this declaration of His true feelings, Jehovah God presented the Creator’s mercy for humanity in its entirety. It showed to humanity that “the Creator’s mercy” is not an empty phrase, nor is it a hollow promise; it has concrete principles, methods and objectives. He is true and real, and uses no falsehoods or disguises, and in this same manner His mercy is endlessly bestowed upon humanity in every time and age. However, to this very day, the Creator’s exchange with Jonah is God’s sole, exclusive verbal statement of why He shows mercy to humanity, how He shows mercy to humanity, how tolerant He is of humanity and His true feelings for humanity. Jehovah God’s succinct conversation expresses His complete thoughts for humanity; it is a true expression of His heart’s attitude toward humanity, and it is also concrete proof of His broad bestowal of mercy upon humanity. His mercy is not only bestowed upon humanity’s elder generations; it is also granted to the younger members of humanity, just as it has always been, from one generation to the next. Although God’s wrath frequently comes down upon certain corners and certain eras of humanity, God’s mercy has never ceased. With His mercy, He guides and leads one generation of created humanity after the next, supplies and nourishes one generation of created humanity after the next, because His true feelings toward humanity never change. Just as Jehovah God said: “And should I not spare Nineveh…?” He has always cherished His own creation. This is the mercy of the Creator’s righteous disposition, and it is also the pure uniqueness of the Creator!

“The things recorded in the Old Testament are Jehovah’s work in Israel, and that which is recorded in the New Testament is the work of Jesus during the Age of Grace; they document the work done by God in two different ages. The Old Testament documents the work of God during the Age of Law, and thus the Old Testament is a historical book, while the New Testament is the product of the work of the Age of Grace. When the new work began, these books became out of date—and thus, the New Testament is also a historical book. Of course, the New Testament is not as systematic as the Old Testament, nor does it record as many things.”

"For any person born into this world, their birth is necessary and their death inevitable, and no one can surpass this course. If one wishes to depart from this world painlessly, if one wants to be able to face life’s final juncture with no reluctance or worry, the only way is to leave no regrets. And the only way to depart without regrets is to know the Creator’s sovereignty, to know His authority, and to submit to them. Only in this way can one stay far from human strifes, from evil, from Satan’s bondage…."

"The God-created mankind, a mankind who had originally been very good in God’s eyes and very close to God, was cut off by a flood after they disobeyed God. Such a mankind disappeared in a twinkling; was God grieved over that? Of course, He was grieved! What was the expression of His grief? What is the account of it in the Bible? It is as recorded in this verse: And I will establish my covenant with you, neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth. In this simple word God’s mind was revealed: He was deeply grieved over this destruction of the world; in human terms, He was very sad. We may picture it: After the world was destroyed by the flood, what did the earth originally full of life look like then? What did the earth originally full of human beings look like then? It was desolate, no living things existed, and water was everywhere, on which things were floating about messily. Was such a scene God’s original intention in creating the world? Certainly not! God’s original intention was to see that the whole earth would be full of life and see that the mankind created by Him would worship Him, and at least it was not that only one man, Noah, would worship Him, and only one man, Noah, could be called by Him to accomplish His commission. At the moment when mankind disappeared, what God saw was not what He had originally intended to see but just the opposite. How could God’s heart not be grieved?" from A Continuation of The Word Appears in the Flesh

"When you see a rainbow again, what will you think about? At least you will think that God once sorrowed over destroying the world by a flood, and think that although God hated that world and hated that mankind, yet when he destroyed the mankind he had made with his own hands, he felt pain in his heart, felt it hard to give them up, felt he had no other choice, and felt it hard to do that. The only comfort to him was the eight members of Noah’s family. It was because of Noah’s cooperation that the painstaking effort and price he had expended in creating all things had not been wasted after all. It was the only thing that could appease his wound while he was grieved. From then on, God placed his expectations for mankind all on the whole family of Noah, and he hoped that they would live under his blessing rather than in his curse, hoped that they would never again see God’s destruction of the world with a flood, and hoped that they would not be destroyed." from A Continuation of The Word Appears in the Flesh

"In the present age, is there any just man in God’s eyes? Is there any perfect man in God’s eyes? Isn’t this age an age in which all flesh has corrupted his way on the earth in God’s eyes? In this age, except for those whom God intends to make complete, the human beings who can follow God and receive God’s salvation, aren’t all fleshly men challenging the limit of God’s patience? In this world, the things that happen around you every day and everything you see with your eyes, hear with your ears, or experience personally, aren’t they all filled with violence? In God’s eyes, shouldn’t such a world and such an age be ended? Although the background of the present age is completely different from that of Noah’s time, God’s feeling and God’s anger toward the corruption of mankind are the same as those of that time. God can be patient because of his work, but as far as all kinds of states and conditions are concerned, this world should have long been destroyed in God’s eyes, for the situation is much worse than that when the world was destroyed by the flood." from A Continuation of The Word Appears in the Flesh

It is those who can be quiet before God and genuinely commune with God who are God’s people.
from "On Quieting Your Heart Before God"
"(Gen 9:1-6) And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth. And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be on every beast of the earth, and on every fowl of the air, on all that moves on the earth, and on all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered. Every moving thing that lives shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things. But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall you not eat. And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man’s brother will I require the life of man. Whoever sheds man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man." from A Continuation of The Word Appears in the Flesh
