Lelutka Avalon 3.1 head

Colorado's Gore Range north-east of Vail has to be one of the more iconic ranges in Colorado. Here the late, low sun fires up the changing aspens. Breath taking to behold!

There was a lot of work done getting this shot! I hadn't been to the location before but knew of the waterfall. With muddy slopes down to the river bank and an ugly brick building just out of shot it wasn't as photogenic a location as I had hoped.

Similar image to the Gore Range shot, but slightly different vantage point and done with iPhone 14 ProMax. Just for comparison's sake.

Thought that a long exposure and mono would reflect the mood at Gore Bay today. No rain, so that was a bonus as shortly hereafter we set out for our Manuka Bay walk.

I got pretty close to the log to try and draw the eye in to that lovely detail and then on to the sky.

DĂĽnyada bir yerdeyim ben

Yol kenarlarındaki su birikintilerindeyim

Yerim yurdum yoktur benim

Yarim yurdum yoktur benim

Sadece gökyüzüne göreyim

Uzak yerler çeker beni

İsterim ki gemilerle gideyim

Bugün burda şarkılar söylerim

Ben kendime şarkılar söylerim

Ama yarın hiçbir yerdeyim

Of all the canyons traversed by the Rio Grande Zephyr, Gore Canyon was arguably the most spectacular. Viewed from Inspiration Point, Train 17 threads through 60-foot-long Tunnel 40, the shortest bore on the Moffat Road.

Little Gore would've been preferred but there was a hard cloud line hanging less than a mile west, so not a bad consolation grab in the last light for a while.
