Mark got a new toy, a GoPro HD Hero video cam. Pictured above the GoPro is attached to a Manfrotto Super Clamp with metal Handle, Giottos MH 1004 Professional Mini Ball Head Camera Mount on reversible short stud, with 3/8" & 1/4"-20 threads.
He shot a couple of videos with it while we were doing some dethatching in my back yard last month. Check them out here and here
This is part of a timelapse I did this afternoon with the GoPro Hero 2. Interval timer set to 5 seconds. The camera was attached to the outside of a window using the suction mount.

Question by Kai: Gopro 4k video resolution?
I just got the gopro hero 3 black edition and when i record a video in 1440p, 2.7k, or 4k, i try to import the video and it comes out as two files that i can’t open with windows media player. Is there any way i can open these files and watch them or is the 4k video recording totally pointless.

Hi Kai:
Windows Media Player (and Movie Maker) and other “consumer video” software isn’t designed for anything higher-resolution than 1080HD video. Go to the GoPro.com website and download the CinePak software, which should have the proper “codecs” to view & edit the higher-rez video files with.
And keep in mind that at the 4K setting, the GoPro’s only record at 15 frames per second, which I would consider “pointless”, especially since YouTube won’t show videos at this resolution.
