a trolley bus exits the hataitai bus tunnel. built in 1907 connecting the village with the town of wellington for trams, these modern designline trolleys seem like spaceships in comparison with their LED displays, fibreglass bodywork, and air conditioning.

unlike the older trolley busses, when the power is down these can move under their own power with a modern battery pack.

The hoarding on the side of the bus is a reminder of the date of the analogue TV phase-out on 29 September this year - 'going digital'. the end of an era, really.

the abutments have become increasingly more tagged recently. not a lot of art going on there, sadly.
