On the disused runway 07/25 of the former Neubiberg Air Base (Fliegerhorst Neubiberg). Military use ceased in 1991, the airfield was finally closed in 1998, last user was the Police Helicopter Squadron of Bavaria. Nowadays the runway and the surroundings are a recreational area.
That plane is obviously copied into the shot. A Junkers Ju 52/3m that I caught on final approach to Schleißheim Airfield (EDNX), back in 2017 when it was still flying (more about that particular plane and its final grounding at the link).

A beautiful pheasant found in the woody / forest areas of the Himalayan region. The birds go around in flocks and mostly seen in groups of 2 or more. We sighted this bird several times in multiple places, but the birds were quite shy and they were hard to photograph. This was taken on the last few days when we got lucky.

Taken from the touring bus going around the city, a beautiful historic city, that is. This was my 3rd time to visit. One of my good times.

Coucher de soleil sur l'île de Bendor et le port de Bandol
Havre de paix, c'est l'un des petits coins varois qui fait penser au paradis. Cet îlot est préservé des voitures avec une plage paradisiaque au son des cigales. L’île de Bendor, propriété de la famille Ricard, est un monde à part, véritable village autonome à seulement quelques minutes de bateau de Bandol.
C’est un des spots idéal pour mes amoureux ou les pasionnés de photographie. il est situé à seulement quelques minutes du port de Bandol, l’île de Bendor a su conserver son cachet et a été construite et aménagée par Paul Ricard dans les années 50.
On fait le tour de cet îlot de 7 hectares à pied, appréciant les eaux turquoises côté Bandol, vue sur la Ciotat sur la côte sous le vent plus sauvage, admirant au passage les sculptures témoignant de la vie artistique de l’île.
Haven of peace, it is one of the small corners Var which makes think of the paradise. This islet is preserved cars with a beach paradise to the sound of cicadas. The island of Bendor, owned by the Ricard family, is a world apart, a true autonomous village just a few minutes by boat from Bandol.
This is one of the ideal spots for my lovers or photography enthusiasts. it is located just minutes from the port of Bandol, the island of Bendor has retained its character and was built and furnished by Paul Ricard in the 50s.
We go around this island of 7 hectares on foot, enjoying the turquoise waters side Bandol, overlooking the Ciotat on the coast under the wind more wild, admiring the passage of the sculptures testifying to the artistic life of the island.
The Klondike Highway wraps around a mountain in British Columbia's Stikini Region, near Tagish Lake.

La Besurta-Collado de La Renclusa-Aigualluts-La Besurta
Esta ruta de senderismo visita uno de los parajes más bonitos del Valle de Benasque: Aigualluts. El recorrido se puede hacer sin mucho esfuerzo en cuatro horas, pero vale la pena entretenerse a cada tramo para observar con detenimiento el paisaje. Empieza y termina en el mismo lugar, el aparcamiento situado en La Besurta.
El camino discurre al principio en dirección sur, por un camino muy evidente, hasta llegar en 50 minutos al refugio de La Renclusa. Lo rodeamos (hay un poste indicador) para continuar en dirección sur hacia el collado de La Renclusa. La senda va virando hacia el este hasta alcanzar el collado, el punto más alto que alcanzaremos hoy, al que llegamos en algo menos de hora y media desde el inicio.
Seguimos por la senda en dirección este, ya en descenso, hasta el Plan de Aigualluts (dos horas y veinte minutos).
Aquí tomamos hacia la derecha para rodear el llano por un camino equipado con algunas palancas (puentecillos) que salvan los numerosos barrancos y arroyos que llegan hasta este llano.
Después de rodearlo, podemos ver a la izquierda el Forao de Aigualluts, una sima por donde se cuela el agua que baja del glaciar del Aneto para ir a dar a L'Artiga de Lin, en el vecino valle de Viella, y tributar, por tanto, al Garona y no al Ésera.
Al final del llano que encontramos a continuación podemos continuar de frente para volver a La Besurta por el camino viejo o ascender un poco a la izquierda para ir a buscar el camino de ascenso a La Renclusa.

This hiking route visits one of the most beautiful spots in the Benasque Valley: Aigualluts. The route can be done without much effort in four hours, but it is worth taking the time to observe the landscape in detail. It starts and ends in the same place, the car park located in La Besurta.
The path initially runs southwards, along a very obvious path, until reaching the La Renclusa refuge in 50 minutes. We go around it (there is a signpost) to continue southwards towards the La Renclusa pass. The path turns eastwards until reaching the pass, the highest point we will reach today, which we reach in just under an hour and a half from the start.
We continue along the path in an easterly direction, now descending, to the Plan de Aigualluts (two hours and twenty minutes).
Here we turn right to go around the plain on a path equipped with some levers (small bridges) that cross the numerous ravines and streams that reach this plain.
After going around it, we can see on the left the Forao de Aigualluts, a chasm through which the water that comes down from the Aneto glacier seeps to flow into L'Artiga de Lin, in the neighbouring valley of Viella, and therefore flows into the Garonne and not the Ésera.
At the end of the plain that we find below, we can continue straight ahead to return to La Besurta along the old path or ascend a little to the left to find the path that goes up to La Renclusa.
A warm up hike where we stopped to have a bite to eat before heading further up. There is a train going around the lake if you look closely. :)

A surprise awaits. I was going around a bend along the path when this Great Blue Heron showed up flying towards me. I managed to get a few shots before it veered away from the field of view. Richmond Hill, Ontario.

Bad air in the Bay Area from the smoke of the fires burning around us. This air is actually clearer down low than it was earlier in the day, but the air up high was still brown.

The Rundetaarn, or Rundetårn (Round Tower in English), is a 17th-century tower located in central Copenhagen, Denmark. One of the many architectural projects of Christian IV, it was built as an astronomical observatory. It is most noted for its equestrian staircase, a 7.5-turn helical corridor leading to the top, and for the expansive views it affords over Copenhagen.
Take one window screen (I thought it worked well with the fork) place it on a kind of white folding plastic table in the morning sunlight (see first comment for my studio), on top of it add a small flat bottomed glass Pyrex bowl, squirt in some dish washing soap and water (just a little not a lot), stir with a spoon in a sort of whisking motion and admire the cool bubbles and patterns! I was hoping for some cool psychedelic colors but didn't really get much color except blue so I processed in B&W. I was pleasantly surprised to see the sharpness of the lens stopped down to f/16. After this I shot an energy drink can and it came out tack sharp with great color contrast!
I estimate the scale of this image to be under 1 inch, if you look to the left, you'll see a "0" which is the last digit of the model number, it measures app. 0.1 inch tall.

Kind of a weird thing too that takes me WAY back to before there were PCs and Macs w/MacDraw. To a time when central computers were the thing and if you wanted briefing charts, you went to the graphics department. Charts could be made but you had to write code in BASIC to control a plotter. Computer generated images were just starting to show up and for fun I coded a program that generated these sphere looking images. It was all about coming up with the equations to modify the radius such that at the edge, it matched the radius of the circle but as you got closer to the center, the radius approached infinity and you got a flat line. The increments were advanced in very small amounts and in effect the plotter drew a 'curved line". I guess what comes around goes around and in case you know early office computers it was an HP9845C workstation.
Vanuit Hamm en vanuit Neheim-Hüsten verzorgt de RLG enkele last-mile bedieningen. Rond de laatstgenoemde plaats is normaal gesproken hun DE18 met nummer 57 actief. De volumes wisselen echter nogal: deze ochtend had DB geheel geen aanvoer voor Neheim vanuit Schwerte. De loc haalde eerst twee geloste gasketels op bij Transgas. Daarna was men voorlopig weer klaar in deze hoek, maar omdat er daar niet kan worden omgelopen rijdt men eerst door richting Arnsberg. Hier is men net onder de hoofdlijn van Schwerte naar Brilon e.v. doorgereden.
RLG operates some last-mile services from Hamm and Neheim-Hüsten. Usually their DE18 with number 57 is active around the latter place. The transported volumes vary: this morning, DB didn't bring any wagons from Schwerte... RLG first picked up two empty LPG tank cars at Transgas. To avoid having to push the tank cars back to Neheim, they continue to Arnstein where the loco can go around the wagons. The loco just passed the bridge over which the main line from Schwerte towards Brilon crosses the Ruhr river.
