For most of this week we've been under the influence of a polar vortex. It's been ice cold, windy, and the snow has blizzard-like intensity. Still, if you stop and look around, it really is quite beautiful - especially with an occasional glimmer of light.

I photographed these trees while walking the circumference of Uluru this week. What a remarkably sparkly and beautiful experience it was walking through them...I'm not sure what they are though, and wondered if any of my Australian contacts might know?

A quick trip down to Cow Gap to see the lighthouse. The light broke through for a few minutes just before sunset.
Yesterday's touch of frost melted with the warmth of the morning sunlight into very fine dew-like droplets on the chrysanthemum's petal tips.

I am really eager to get out and shoot again, so I had to satisfy my hunger with an indoor macro today. Some tulips at home became the target and I wanted to get that summery feel with really saturated yellows and blues. Added a bit of high key feel as well. I kind of like the result but again, I am not quiet well yet ;)
