This is the amazing Nikolas. He's been a huge inspiration to me for ages, so it was really exciting to be able to meet him in person. Apart from being a fantastic model, he is a great photographer too, so make sure to check out his beautiful work if you haven't already. A wonderful summer shot to add to our Summer Days Collection. The faint pink flowers on the riverbank soaring above the water with a stream of reflected sunlight stretching down the centre. Trees lining the river are not only rich in colour but make habitats for small birds and squirrels.

“The Bald Eagle has been the national emblem of the United States since 1782 and a spiritual symbol for native people for far longer than that. These regal birds aren’t really bald, but their white-feathered heads gleam in contrast to their chocolate-brown body and wings. Look for them soaring in solitude, chasing other birds for their food, or gathering by the hundreds in winter. Once endangered by hunting and pesticides, Bald Eagles have flourished under protection. ….. The Bald Eagle dwarfs most other raptors, including the Turkey Vulture and Red-tailed Hawk. It has a heavy body, large head, and long, hooked bill. In flight, a Bald Eagle holds its broad wings flat like a board….. Rather than do their own fishing, Bald Eagles often go after other creatures’ catches. A Bald Eagle will harass a hunting Osprey until the smaller raptor drops its prey in midair, where the eagle swoops it up. A Bald Eagle may even snatch a fish directly out of an Osprey’s talons. Fishing mammals (even people sometimes) can also lose prey to Bald Eagle piracy.”

The sunshine gleams so bright and warm,
The sky is blue and clear.
I run outdoors without a coat,
And spring is almost here.
Then before I know it,
Small clouds have blown together,
Till the sun just can't get through them,
And again, it's mitten weather.
A view through the arches of the floral mosaic pillars of the colonnade into the courtyard, towards the domes and one of the minarets of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Abu Dhabi, UAE. This POV caught my eye because of the many elements in the composition and the women in abayas reflected in the gleaming white Macedonian marble.

Being a lighthouse keeper on an island somewhere off the coast can be quite a lonely existence.
However it does give you a lot of time to practice your hobbies, like for example speederbiking. And some practice so much, they get invited to the International Maritime Speederbike League!

A cow moose with a lovely shiny coat strides across a setting of mixed grass and willows in Roosevelt National Forest, Colorado.
The morning sun gets harsh pretty quickly at 10,000 feet, but hadn't reached peak harshness when I took this shot.
The first of two moose posts before we head out to find some more of these cool critters.

The Walt Disney Concert Hall stands as a gleaming symbol of Los Angeles’ artistic soul. In this photograph, its stainless-steel curves catch the morning light, creating a dance of reflections that mimic the fluidity of music itself. Designed by the legendary architect Frank Gehry, the building’s sculptural form contrasts starkly with the geometric rigidity of its downtown surroundings. This image, taken from the corner of 1st Street and Grand Avenue, captures the hall in its most expressive moment—its metallic skin glowing gold and silver under a partly cloudy sky, as if the building is breathing in rhythm with the city.
The story behind the concert hall is as dramatic as its appearance. Lillian Disney, the wife of Walt Disney, contributed $50 million in 1987 to initiate the project in memory of her husband’s love for the arts. Yet, the building’s journey was riddled with delays, rising costs, and engineering complexities. Construction didn’t begin until 1999, and it was finally completed in 2003—sixteen years after the original gift. Gehry’s design, once considered too radical, ultimately became a triumph, with the concert hall earning global acclaim not only for its architecture but also for its superb acoustics, engineered in collaboration with Yasuhisa Toyota.
This photograph attempts to bridge the hall’s artistic intent with its historical narrative. The vantage point was chosen deliberately to highlight the interplay of surfaces, where reflections of nearby buildings and the sky add a temporal dimension to the architecture. It’s a portrait of ambition and perseverance, set in steel. The Walt Disney Concert Hall is more than a venue—it’s a monument to visionaries, from the Disneys to Gehry, who dared to dream of something timeless in a city that’s constantly reinventing itself.

A selection of photos taken at West Dean house and gardens. The weather during the week had been shocking but an afternoon of sunshine allowed for some changes to capture the amazing flora, fauna and wildlife that is so abundant there.
The Sun was yet to come and light seemed to leak with a delicate gleam onto the pass and fall further still into the deep ravine cut by the stream.
