The Konstantine Eristavi Street area in Tbilisi, Georgia, is located in a historic and vibrant part of the city, close to some of the cityās most important cultural and religious landmarks, including the impressive Sameba Cathedral. The area offers a mix of local culture, everyday life and an authentic shopping experience in the small shops and markets. Sameba Cathedral, just a few minutesā walk from Konstantine Eristavi Street, is one of the largest Orthodox cathedrals in the world and an important symbol of Tbilisi. This architectural masterpiece dominates the city skyline, attracting tourists and pilgrims alike. Around Konstantine Eristavi Street and the nearby streets, youāll find a variety of small shops that capture the essence of everyday life in Tbilisi. Many of these shops are family-run businesses, selling everything from fresh fruit and vegetables to handmade souvenirs and traditional Georgian products. The area has a more local feel than the touristy areas in the old town, making it an interesting place to experience authentic Tbilisi. There are also small markets and street vendors in the area. Here you can find typical Georgian products such as fresh bread, spices, cheeses and wine, as well as clothes and household items. The atmosphere in the markets is busy and lively, with vendors offering their wares and customers haggling over prices. It is an ideal place to get in touch with the locals and learn more about their culture and customs. The area around Konstantine Eristavi Street has a mix of old and new buildings. Some streets are narrow and cobbled, giving a sense of historic charm, while others are more modern and wider. The proximity of the cathedral creates a peaceful, almost spiritual atmosphere, in contrast to the hustle and bustle of the markets and shops.
In Tbilisi, loggias, conservatories and verandas are a common sight, especially in the older parts of the city. These enclosed balconies are often beautifully decorated and offer a unique way to enjoy the view of the city and its surroundings while being protected from the elements. Many of these loggias have a traditional architectural style, with colorful glass panels and sometimes wood carvings, which add to the charm of the buildings. They often serve as an additional living space, where residents can relax, tend to plants or enjoy a meal with a view. These elements make the enclosed balconies in Tbilisi a special and recognizable aspect of the city's architecture. In Georgian, it can also be specifically referred to as "balkoni" (įįįįįįį), which simply means "balcony".

Waterfall, river and grassy area. A nice home for zoo tigers. I am viewing this from a large glass enclosure. I think the Tigers at Busch Gardens, Tampa are Bengal Tigers. Again the pink is from a reflection of someone's shirt.
On Thursday March 9, 2017, my Wife & I went to the Strawberry Festival in Plant City, Florida. One of the exhibits featured NATHAN'S (Origin: Coney Island, Brooklyn, New York).
These six photographs show various parts of the Nathan's exhibit. The Strawberry Festival celebrates the Winter/Spring growing season of the Plant City, FL Strawberry Farms.
This particular photo shows the Trophy presented to the Winner of the Hot Dog Eating Contest, held each year at the original Nathan's in Coney Island, New York.
It was spine-tingling standing on this glass floor, and while stepping out on it I went through severe vertigo. It felt like I was floating and spinning at the same time. I actually had to hold on to something before taking the shot.
Add plants, add deck chair, get conservatory.
Well, that... and remove the escalator and the stairs. And pave it over. Would it still be a subway station, then?
Taken during a visit at the London Zoo. I need to point out that the iguana was in a glass enclosure and lit with artificial light.

So this morning i walked outside and closed my eyes and took a deep breath in and for a second i thought i actually was in Oregon. The air just tasted more fresh and clean than it usually does, most likely due to a small amount of rain we received in the early morning. It was a awesome feeling and now i got some motivation back to make some more money so i can make my move out to the PNW by the end of the Summer at the latest.

These Brits visiting Calgary were happy to let me photograph them as they were walking on the glass floor in the tower.
Ahhh! The mighty Tiger.
I hope he didn't notice me! I better run!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nah! Just kidding. This Tiger is safetly locked into a glass enclosure.
He's got lots of space to roam around in there. But I still feel sorry for him.
I mean maybe he was ment to be in the wild!

This poor Sugar Glider looks woefully out of place in the reptilarium in the Malacca/ Melaka zoo. Maybe this poor animal needed the cool, dark environment of the reptile house, but I was left wondering if instinct scared the animal with the deadly reptiles around. At any rate, the Sugar Glider is meant to fly- ok, glide- between trees, so how would it feel confined to a tiny box in a zoo? The Sugar Glider is a small, omnivorous, arboreal, and nocturnal gliding possum. The common name refers to its predilection for sugary foods such as sap and nectar and its ability to glide through the air, much like a Flying Squirrel. Notes about the Malacca/ Melaka zoo appeared earlier in this album. (see previous pictures). (Malacca/ Melaka, Malaysia, Sept. 2023) PS: Pardon the reflection of my iPhone on the glass- the lighting was very low inside the reptilarium, and with this animal stuck into a remote corner of his tiny glass case, this was the best view I could get.

Signage about the Sugar Glider you saw earlier in this album (see previous picture). The Sugar Glider is a small, omnivorous, arboreal, and nocturnal gliding possum. The sign is fairly self explanatory if viewed in full screen or expanded mode, so I will save you further commentary. Notes about the Malacca/ Melaka zoo appeared earlier in this album. After lunch we went to the Bibi-Khanym Mosque. In the courtyard outside the partially restored mosque is a glassed in giant book on a stone stand. You can snatch a glimpse of both behind the woman cleaning the inside of the enclosure. I wasn't able to get a decent shot of the whole stand & book in the case.
