For the Macro Mondays Theme 'Glass'.
I always wanted to look deep inside one of these glasses (see first comment box), this was my chance ;-))
Happy Macro Monday everyone and have a lovely start of this new week!
An exercise in colors and textures, one of the photo-ops at the last NECCC conference

Photographing glass is challenging. Infuriating. Rewarding? I’ve shot this wine glass many times and each time I get a completely different result. Should you backlight or side light or in this case a bit of both? I used a green plastic bag over my LED light to create the colour, the other hues are refractions and reflections from random objects on the table.
I tried a whole array of subjects this week, up to the wire on time again!

This is what happens when a Hobbit argues with Gandalf the Magician...........

I visited a butterfly glass house last month with family and was thrilled to see one of these amazing creatures which I've marvelled at in photos on here.
I'm always a little anxious when visiting animals in captivity, but the owner seemed knowledgeable and breeds for reputable places like Kew Gardens and Wisley.
On looking closely it seemed that this beauty had lost its two front legs and I worried that it had been trodden on or damaged in some other way, but apparently glass winged butterflies have two very short front legs which are used only for smelling and tasting!
Venetian glass brought back from Morano in the early 1970s on my way through Italy as I followed the line of the WWII Allied invasion through Italy.
Small glass figurine with lights I was swinging around in the background.
Taken with the Meyer-Optik Goerlitz Trioplan f2.8/100 lens.
This was shot with the lens wide open at f2.8.
Another look at this beautiful chapel ceiling. As the sun and clouds play above the stained glass the light and colors change, adding a presence to the space.
Thank you so much for all of your views and faves! I truly appreciate your feedback.
