I was delicately adjusting my camera’s manual focus trying to get the flowers refracted in the water drops in perfect detail. When I finally got it just the way I wanted the sun poked out from behind some tree branches, shined down on the water drops, and washed out my carefully crafted composition. This nuisance of nature required slight changes in perspective and aperture to compensate. Ah well, I suppose one man’s distracting glare is another’s spectacular sparkle.

With hypnotic red eyes, this ambush predator patiently peers into the waters of a brackish wetland. These are the final photos from a walk around Launceston's Royal Park beside the Tamar River. As you will have seen it was a fabulously bright afternoon. Outside the Tamar Yacht Club I wanted to try to express the feeling of warmth created by the sun on this beautiful Autumn afternoon. Here is a shot directly into the sun, lens flare and all.
