The matriarch on the left is giving all the signs that we in our jeep are close enough to her daughter and babe. She let out a loud trumpet and stepped towards us and I shifted into reverse and headed out of there. Then appeared a whole family as they continued their peaceful browsing. That would be 50 to 200 kilos per day (at least!).
Many people have sat or stood beside this tree over the years. It must have heard several stories from all over the world as people gathered at its roots. It reminds me somewhat of the book "The Giving Tree" by Shel Silverstein. The tree gives to the people and to the park. I hope the people give back.
This beauty is not meant to be taken lightly. Give them to a loved one when you feel it most. “Give Them Freely”. You’ll receive love in return as love isn’t to be kept to oneself. Gratitude and Kindness are are rewards to be shared much like Love.

Every year I sit and think about what I have to be thankful for. The obvious things are my family, my friends, my health etc. But then you have to stop and think about what else are you thankful for.
Taking some time to think about that shows character. I am thankful for the people who choose to live wisely, I am thankful for a system that is trying to help irradicate prejudice, racism etc. I am thankful for the ability people have to learn from their mistakes. I am thankful for those that are able to forgive.
Over all there is so much to be thankful for in such tough times.

Giving the illusion of a pyrotechnic display, sunlight reflects from the fruiting bodies (called sporangiophores) of Spinellus fusiger, a parasitic fungus that infects mycenoid mushrooms such as Mycena haematopus (also known as Burgundydrop bonnet, or bleeding Mycena).
Spinellus fusiger grows in the cap of the hapless mushroom host and eventually breaks through to produce the sporangiophores bearing tiny pin head structures (sporangia) containing spores. This parasitic fungus is widely distributed and is found throughout Europe, Asia and North America.

Some times you hit the lowest point in your life whether it be in game or out and you just feel like you are losing your fight and you are allowing things to over power you and make you feel like what's the point of fighting. That pain can feel like a train chasing you and you get to the point where you have to decide to leap off or give in and stand there accepting life's defeat. Just gotta make it through this month and things will always get better...........

I've been giving stuff to Goodwill trying to downsize and some of the first things to go were years worth of Halloween costumes for the cats. I thought I held back one small, tasteful (hehe) birthday hat for days like today but alas, it's also gone so Pippi was a good sport and wore this huge bowtie to help celebrate the big day. Who knew I'd end up with another cat who would tolerate things like bowties. Perhaps I gave away those costumes too soon.

to the harsh SoCal desert and abandonment. For 15 years I have watched this town and specifically this building go from inhabited to crumbling back to earth from which it came...As a kid, many years ago, I rode through here on the old Hwy 60 in its heyday. The mighty I-10 bypassed this and other desert towns, which resulted in their demise.

A male mountain bluebird crouches and spreads his wings in preparation for flying off the post. It gives a hop and a flap at the same time to get launched. It all happens so fast, the next frame in a high speed burst showed the bird well off the post.

As I sat looking out the window of my man cave this morning, watching the soft gray clouds drift in over our ridge, it occurred to me that despite the trials and tribulations of 2020, I really have more to be grateful for than not. Marg and I are still waking up on the green side of the grass--that's the main thing, and as I gaze out my window at the autumn colors of the trees and the vineyard in the distance, I'm grateful that each morning we wake up in this beautiful place on earth with Bella the cat, and Kenzie the pup.
