A short break from the the glitzy Vegas photos.
I couldn't help but think of this old Beatlesque tune when I was taking this picture.
This is my daughter's adorable preschool classmate during their playdate last week. It is one of my most favorite portraits I've taken. She was sitting atop a train structure at the playground as I photographed her against some tall trees in the background. The light around her hat was so gorgeous, and luckily she remained still while I shot this.
Gilbert O'Sullivan "Alone again"

"In a little while from now,
If I'm not feeling any less sour
I promised myself to treat myself
And visit a nearby tower,
And climbing to the top,
Will throw myself off
In an effort to make it clear to who
Ever what it's like when your shattered
Left standing in the lurch, at a church
Where people 're saying,
"My God that's tough, she stood him up!
No point in us remaining.
May as well go home."
As I did on my own,
Alone again, naturally..."

...I saw this guy perched on this telephone pole, watching all the other birds on the ground, perched all by itself. It looked so alone up there, when I saw the shot, this song came to mind. I wish for you, my friends a terrific weekend. Enjoy.....
Alone Again, Naturally ~~~ Gilbert O’Sullivan
A good day watching the cricket and football - as well as finishing off the book about the rise of fascism in Hitler's Germany seen through the lives of ordinary people by Julia Boyd. Then it was off to Buxton Opera House to see Gilbert O'Sullivan. By my maths, he's 72 years old, but sharp as a tack and wearing extremely well as you can see. Photos were allowed with no flash - as if I needed an excuse? Worst part of the day was the non-arrival of an Amazon parcel. My local delivery person doesn't like working Saturdays. obviously.

Oh, and Sarah Jane Morris delivered an ace version, but she's too obscure to be on YouTube.

Found this, this morning at the Age Concern warehouse in Banbury Avenue, on Slough Trading Estate. It's almost directly opposite the two warehouse units that were home to Ford Advanced Vehicles (& later John Wyer Automotive), where the Ford GT40 racing cars were built in the 1960s. Also where Porsche sent their 917 racing cars, when John Wyer was running their racing team (1969-71). There's a motoring connection, if ever their was one!?
I don´t like fishes, but I couldn´t stop taking photos at him while we were dining in that french restaurant... :S
LEFT STANDING IN THE LURCH AT A CHURCH WHERE PEOPLE SAYING "MY GOD THAT'S TOUGH SHE STOOD HIM UP, NO POINT IN US REMAINING, WE MAY AS WELL GO HOME" (as I did on my own alone again, naturally) - Composition Wednesday

In a little while from now,
If I'm not feeling any less sour.
I promised myself, to treat myself,
And visit a nearby tower ..........
And climbing to the top,
Would throw myself off,
In an effort to, make clear to whoever,
What it's like when your shattered .......
Left standing in a lurch,
In a church with people saying .....
My God, that's tough, she stood him up,
No point in us remaining .......
I may as well go home,
As I did on my own,
Alone again, naturally.
To think that only yesterday,
I was cheerful, bright and gay.
Looking forward to, and who wouldn’t do,
The role I was about to play.
But as if to knock me down,
Reality came around,
And without so much as a mere touch,
Cut me into little pieces.
Leaving me to doubt, all about God and His mercy,
Oh, if He really does exist,
Why did He desert me?
And in my hour of need,
I truely am, indeed,
Alone again, naturally.
It seems to me that there are more hearts,
Broken in the world that can’t be mended,
Left unattended, what do we do?
What do we do?
Now looking back over the years,
And whatever else that appears.
I remember I cried when my father died,
Never wishing to hide the tears.
At sixty-five years old,
My mother, God rest her soul,
Couldn’t understand why the only man,
She had ever loved had been taken.
Leaving her to start, with a heart so badly broken,
Despite encouragement from me,
No words were ever spoken.
And when she passed away,
I cried and cried all day,
Alone again, naturally .....
Alone again ................................. naturally.
