About a year ago I shot a friend's album launch for my first ever gig shoot. This is the guitarist from one of the support acts, Alex Cross. I can't remember this fella's name just now. Anyhow, been feeling like sharing something a bit different lately. Haven't been taking many photos recently, but what I have done is very rarely street.

Taken live at Grandslam 18 this is KT Tunstall who joined Simple Minds and The Pretenders at A J Bell stadium in Salford, UK. Since taking time out and unleashing her new invigorated album this summer, KT was searching for the next chapter in her musical career. Bringing her unique style and warmth to a legion of loyal fans, as she enchants and engages with every song.

Colston Hall Bristol 1985

Another shot from this gig a couple of years ago now. The light was super low as he was out in the crowd at this point, so a bit grainy etc, but I just loved the energy to it all.

Back a couple of years ago when I was still taking the occasional photo, I was increasingly enjoying the results of a handful of gigs I shot over a couple of years. I've shown y'all a couple of the shots but thought I might do a couple more. Let me know what you think. Cheers everyone.

The Craig Pickering Jukebox - Craig was a lifelong friend and the promoter of Biddulph Up in Arms, up until his death a year ago. I've taken over his promoter role and last night we put on a sold-out tribute cancer charity concert involving 15 local bands. Each act did two songs each - one of their own choice and one by an act that Craig liked, so we had some weird and wonderful combinations. The night was a great success and initial count ups lead me to believe that we've raised in excess of £1.5k for the Dougie Mac and Cancer research.

Taken on Sunday 12th April 2015 at the Manchester Academy 2, this is John and Jacob who were the support act for The Shires that evening.

I was on tour with Fink and this is one of my favorite shots from it. Read more in the Huffington Post UK here: www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/tim-thornton/three-days-in-austr...

"We had a great show in Vienna and when we saw Matthias Hombauer’s photographs we felt they captured something really special from the gig. In particular, Matthias made it look like an exciting gig to watch. The wide-angle shot is one of our favorite live shots from the whole tour. We’re very glad Matthias was there to capture the moment. Respect." - Fink
