This is a broken hanging pot which was painted white. It had 2 holes on either side for the wire and I stuck this pansy in one of them. The pansy is a gift because it appeared together with the frost and it is amazing to me how such a dainty beauty can blossom now. I don't even remember ever having pansies in the pot where it grew. Another little one on the make, so I felt ok to cut this one. It now lives in a tiny vase on the window sill.
My 3rd Christmas with this little delight.

This title better applies to places where they are born spontaneously (Europe mainly) because in Brazil pansies can be considered a sought-after gift since you have to cultivate them if you wish to have their beauty and colors enchanting your life.
Sowing takes place in Autumn so that they bloom from early Winter until Spring.
Used in the decoration of gardens, forming clumps in large grassy spaces, such as borders along paths or bordering flower beds, and it also develops well in pots and planters.
As it appreciates the cold climate, in Brazil it is mainly indicated for high altitude regions in the South and Southeast of the country.

So, normal people tend to bundle up, stay inside, and avoid creepy places in the middle of the night when it's in the twenties.... Not photographers... evidently we flock to creepy locals, ignore freezing temperatures, laugh in the face of pitch black doom.... All in the name of a decent photo. This is a gift shop, open during the summer. I've been itching to take a photo of it for a week or two now. Thankfully I didn't discover the no trespassing sign till the end of the shoot.... I dislike trespassing, or breaking any laws in the name of a photo. This building burned down not long after this photo, and I have never been able to correct the shot... this was originally taken in 2016.

A gift that I received from my late grandfather. Owning 4 birds I find it funny that of all animals he gave me this ceramic bird with a knot around his neck.

My wonderful SIL created gift bags this year and mailed them early with requests to “open” them!! They are sewn from quilt squares and the back side is red felt— isn’t she clever? The next picture in the photostream shows some of the things that were in the bag!
