From a bag I made for my sister's baby shower. It was so much fun to put together but next time I will take more time to make it more use-friendly. ^_^
This little bird house was made as a thank you gift. The body although unnoticeable from the picture the back and sides of this body is covered in curly crotch grain from a piece of black walnut. The lid is olivewood with the perch and finial being made from African ebony.
This item is part of the Newberry Library's James R. Powell Route 66 Postcard Collection, which consists of 4,000 postcards of the eight states Route 66 runs through, mainly dating from the mid-1920s through the 1960s. The images document the highway, tourist attractions, and roadside architecture such as motels, service stations, restaurants, and diners.

Make feeding time for your baby extra fun with this hand knit bib, featuring the image of a frog.
The bib measures just over 6" across and 8" tall. The ties are 12" long.
The yarn used for this bib is 100% cotton, which makes for easy care (although I do recommend washing it by hand and laying flat to dry). The green color makes this suitable for a boy or girl.

These black roses were meant for a supposedly Halloween cum anniversary cum birthday promotion, which I planned for months.

Another gift from DaXing, as he packed up for his move, was this pot/bowl/jar with lid. He used it for some dried ingredients for his cooking. I never even noticed how graceful and elegant it is until I saw it alone. Everything is held down now with Blu-Tack against Kita's inevitable interest - even the lid on the jar.
(interesting how this happened: the last picture in the 'my apartment' set - which shows with this - is DaXing himself sitting with Kita, last May)
While I was still in high school, my Granny asked me what I wanted for Christmas one year. She was really surprised when I replied that I wanted a Corning Ware teapot like my Mom's! My Mom's teapot is in the Blue Cornflower pattern, but Granny got me this Wildflower patterned teapot. I love it and it is such a treasure! I miss Granny.
This is so cute! The card opens from the top like a purse. It's big enough to put in a gift card or some cash along with your greeting. Great for girls' days out, bridal showers, baby showers and just because.
I'm working on a more masculine version - I'm trying to turn this into a backpack. I just haven't quite worked out the straps yet.
