i was waiting for the lion to getup so that i can click some photos, but he was in no mood to show himself. occasionally i could see the tail from the grass, there were some pigeons at the distance of around 5 meter from the lion..i waited for 20 minute but he dint got up. i was getting bored, then suddenly the action started. i could not believe my eyes that a captive lion could catch a pigeon. it all happened so quickly, that i could not press the shutter button and pigeon was dead in his mouth. and then the king enjoyed the fresh blood.

Zach rented a fancy Elvis getup, I dug out this sweet-ass dress from my closet (Emily had bought it at a vintage store in NYC and didn't fit it, so gave it to me). I pretended to be Priscilla. This was probably October 2001.
It was Oktoberfest at Hubba Hubba Revue. Of course, that called for a Bavarian maiden getup and some hooping while doing "The Chicken Dance." But in the world of Revolva, there are always surprises.
When this vaudeville hoop act knocked off her alpine hat ... those Swiss Miss braids turned out to be a punk rock, spiked hairdo. And the sound of a record scratching indicated a change in music to German rock hit "99 Luftballoons."
So, of course, there was a black outfit with a skull on it hidden beneath the Bavarian dress. "99 Chicken Dance Balloons" was only performed once (amazingly, Revolva has never again had the opportunity to do an Oktoberfest-themed show), but those who witnessed it not only joined in on the chicken dance parts -- some of them still bring it up, to this day.

I absolutely LOVED their getup!! I don`t know if they won or not, but they sure had my vote!! :-)

Hundreds of graduate students held an organizing rally on the University of Pennsylvania campus April 26, 2023.
Why? Their website (organize@getup-uaw.org) explains:
"We are graduate student workers at the University of Pennsylvania forming a union to improve our working conditions at Penn and to strengthen our collective voice as teaching and research assistants locally and nationally.
As graduate student workers, we make essential contributions to the world-class teaching and research conducted at Penn. However, many of us still struggle to pay high housing and other costs in Philadelphia, lack secure rights in the workplace, and face increasing uncertainty about our futures given the precarious nature of higher education and unstable regulation of visas and work authorization for international student workers.
We have already seen the power of organized graduate student workers at major institutions to dramatically improve their working conditions through unionization with United Auto Workers, including graduate student workers at Columbia, Harvard, and NYU. By building on the experiences of our peers at other universities, we can continue to raise standards for graduate student workers across U.S. higher education.
We join a growing national movement of student workers and other academics forming unions to improve our lives and our work. Graduate student workers organizing with the UAW across the country have made a difference advocating for science research funding, fair visa and immigration policies, and better working conditions in all academic institutions."
