Glowing Buttercups And Clover...
Getting low to the ground can give you the most unique point of view.... a field of buttercups and clover back lit by the setting sun, gives the sense to the viewer of being really small and the buttercups being really huge. "Hey look honey i shrunk the kids.. "

The Philadelphia Mummers parade was a washout due to rain, but the party was going on a the Bubble House until midnight. I donned something light and comfortable because I was going to start out the new year dancing! Five minutes after I took this shot I was on my way! I paid in knee pain, but it was worth it. It's not over! Thanks to all of the DJ's.. Dirty Frank (you killed it!), Rob Paine ( great as always!), Willyum! ( You rocked us to the end! Damn! Dude!)
RTM tribe getdown in the wild wild west rockin pimp jackets! tryin some more simplified stuff..parts of this i love parts i dont..
A good base stealer should make the whole infield jumpy. Whether you steal or not, you're changing the rhythm of the game. If the pitcher is concerned about you, he isn't concentrating enough on the batter.

This photo is of downtown Denver, Colorado in the Platte River Valley. It sits in the basin of what was believed to be an ancient lake. It is also the base from which several tornadoes have originated in a phenomenon called the "Denver Convergence" or "Denver Cyclone."
In the United States, since 1950 (N.O.A.A. statistics): Weld County, two counties north of Denver, is ranked #1 in the nation for the most tornadoes (262) and Adams County, immediately north and east of Denver, is #3 (173). East of Highway 25 and North of Interstate-70, winds pass from West to East over the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains.
They encounter other wind flows and varying temperatures that can create dramatic and sometimes violent upward movement of the winds. They may begin to swirl and the speeds increase to the point the funnel clouds form and begin to move mostly Eastward, putting whatever is in their paths in potential peril.
This time of year (mostly beginning in April through October) is when there is a campaign for greater awareness of possible severe weather. People in this area are reminded to be cautious and to, "Get In, Get Down, and Cover Up" if a tornado is in the area. Curiosity, though, is sometimes what drives people to do otherwise.... By the way, the sunlight through the rainfall can be exceptionally intriguing.

Detail from the side of HOWELLS Departmental Store in Cardiff. The store opened more than a hundred and fifty years ago. During the 1970's it was purchased by House Of Fraser but, following their financial problems, it closed in 2023. The large site, along with other land is being redeveloped and will become the 'HOWELLS QUARTER'.
"Straight Outta Lake Lillian" - 07/52 - 52 Weeks of 2016
Lake Lillian Park, Belleview, FL.
My alternate caption for this was "Shootin' from the Knee." But I thought this Muscovy duck had a bit of a "thug" pose. It was a bit of a challenge to get the one in relative focus and decent composition while holding the camera below knee level while using live view. Then his friend decided to photobomb at the last possible moment. It's a bit crooked from trying to finesse the composition. Yet I like it. It almost seemed to look like an older "shoot from the hip" street photography style, but from the knees instead of the hip. It is definitely a different perspective.

Took me four days to get this shot, getting the birds used to a glass-bottom feeder with a noisy camera underneath it - and they're still jittery about it. This is a blue jay.
Studio 26 - get down. Low point of view.
This Splotch Monster piece began as part of a live drawing session at the January 2017 Growroom Getdown event, held at the Songbyrd Record Cafe in Washington, DC. Some additional, collaborative work was done by Eric Gordon on the lower left character.
