A challenging exercise in quadrant composition --
My daughter's cinema friend challenged me to design a 1x1 shot wherein each quadrant would be unique yet together would tell a visual story
Mit dieser imposanten Drohgebärde verscheucht der Grünfink andere männliche Konkurrenten, da er sich gerade in der Balz befindet und die nur nerven.
With this imposing threatening gesture, the greenfinch scares away other male competitors, as it is in courtship display and they are just annoying.

“Listen…” His words trailed off with a sigh. When he did that I knew what was coming next.
He gestured to the side and spoke again, “I know you’re the Princess and all, but you can’t have me locking up every person who looks at you the wrong way.”
I stopped and gave him one of my winning smiles, I even added a brief batting of my eyes for extra measure. “You like it.” I gave him a light tap to his chest and started walking again.
I knew he rolled his eyes at me, I could feel it. A moment later he followed after, re-taking up his position as my guard. He has had his position for over two-years now and not once had he hesitated to take care of anyone who came at me with ill-intentions. Sometimes I liked to think it was simply because he was good at his job, but other times I wondered if it was something else . . .

I found this patch of Aspen trees in Colorado with some romantic gestures of love as couples carved their initials and the date of their visit.
Aspen trees can live up to 100 years so these marks could quite possibly be there for sometime. I wouldn’t have thought twice about the effects on doing this years ago but I decided to look it up before I posted it the image.
I did find this when researching about tree carvings, "cutting into trees can lead to disturbing of the tree’s flow of nutrients that it needs to survive. Below the layer of bark there are cells in the tree that help the tree grow and stay healthy, and destruction of those cells could harm the tree.”
How do you feel on carving into trees?
As always thank you for viewing my work and taking the time to comment or like it.

The design for the Japanese Garden was conceived in 1970, construction started in 1971 and it was completed in 1974. It represents a gentle, horticultural gesture of sister ship between two sister cities, Buffalo and Kanazawa, Japan. Located on 6 acres along Delaware Park’s Mirror Lake, the original design contained over 1,000 plantings, nearly 20 globe-type lights, three small islands connected to the mainland by bridges.
Such tender gestures.

AI tells me that "a gesture is a physical action, often using the hands, arms, or face, that communicates a message, idea, or feeling, or it can be a symbolic act done to show an attitude or intention. Gestures can involve body language to emphasize speech or convey meaning in the absence of words." In this case, I did not know what kind of face to make. Fuji X-Pro1 plus 7Artisans 1.2/35 wide-open.
we are hungry for tenderness,
in a world where everything abounds.
we are poor of this feeling
which is like a caress for our heart.
we need these small gestures
that make us feel good.
tenderness
is a disinterested and generous love,
that does not ask for anything else
than to be understood and appreciated.
