Geraldton (often informally abbreviated to Gero) is a coastal city in the Mid West region of the Australian state of Western Australia, 424 kilometres (263 mi) north of the state capital, Perth.
Geraldton Wax endemic to Geraldton city in the mid west region of Western Australia. I’m surprised to find a few flowers still on the bush.

The beautiful spring-time hot pink of Geraldton waxflower, Chamelaucium uncinatum.
The profusion of long lasting waxy flowers on a spreading, dense shrub are the outstanding feature of this iconic Australian plant. Growing up 4 m in height.
Native to south-west Western Australia.
The foliage is aromatic when crushed. Flowers are small and have five petals, ten stamens, and are followed by small, hardened fruit.
Each flower 10 to 15 mm diameter.

The Geraldton Wax flowers were blooming beautifully in the "Mound" garden at the entrance to the Kings Garden complex and elsewhere in the park.. The bees know whether the flowers are available partly by colour. The dark pinky red flowers have been pollinated, whilst the whiter ones are just ready for pollen capture. Western Australia has a wonderful array of endemic flowers & plants and has lots of wildflower tourism. Happy Wing Wednesday.
