Geometry:

(from the Ancient Greek: γεωμετρία;

geo - "earth", metron - "measurement")

is a branch of mathematics concerned with questions of shape, size, relative position of figures, and the properties of space.

Inaugurated in 1876, the splendid Mount Royal Park was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, the highly skilled designer behind New York's Central Park and many other major parks in the U.S.

The Lovell Telescope or Mk1 as it was known during its construction between 1951 and 1957 is a marvel to science. However, the design and engineering of this telescope (still the 3rd largest radio telescope in the world) often gets overlooked. It’s incredible this was achieved without the use of modern design systems such as CAD/CAM and 3D modelling. The geometry of the steelwork to enable the curvature of the dish to focus radio waves from deep space at the central antenna is a work of art in its own right.

I was rather struck by the geometry of the Ribblehead Viaduct and its shadow.
