The Slate-throated Redstart is found from northern Mexico south to northern Bolivia, always in temperate montane habitats. In the north it lives in Pine-Oak forests, farther south in cloud forests and moist montane slopes.
It is a species which shows a high degree of geographic variation. In fact this largely grayish-blue bird with a dark chestnut cap has a striking red belly in the north, and in South America it is yellow-bellied, with orange-bellied forms in-between.

Many thanks to all the Flickr photographers that constantly inspire me to try various combinations in my quest for new images. After spending days wandering through abstract captures, I grabbed acrylic paints and shiny foil. Watching the liquids flow together gave me an image that reminded me of geographical maps of an alien landscape.

Preciosa ascensión, desde el refugio de Linza, a la Mesa de los Tres Reyes (2.446 m.). Es el techo del Pirineo navarro y de toda Euskal Herria. Esta cima une (de ahí su nombre) los antiguos reinos de Navarra, Aragón y Francia. Las vistas, ya desde el principio de la ascensión, son sensacionales.

The Sea of Galilee (the Kinneret) is a magnificent geographical marvel surrounded by pretty rural agricultural settlements. It’s famous because of its prominence among New Testament writings. The whole of the Galilee is since this is the place where Jesus lived. The Sea of Galilee is one of the earliest settled areas in the Land of Israel. It boasts archaeological ruins sitting alongside some of the first pioneering settlements in Israel. The Kinneret also houses religious sites, modern cities, and endless outdoor pursuits.
