I finally was able to go out birding today and what fun it was. This Great Egret flew across the bridge at Bolsa Chica and landed on the railing. I was nearby and was able to get close to a full frame shot.

A 30 second exposure I took in Cregagh Glen, Belfast earlier today. It came out a bit dark but managed to rescue a lot of detail with some post editing.

The south fork of Bishop Creek flows gently through a meadow. Our view is backed by aspens against a steep canyon slope.
One more shot from my trip at Homesite Falls. This one has the central segment of the falls as the main subject; for that matter, the only subject. Perhaps simplicity is best where some contend that less is more. However, that is only in photography.
The small amount of light that was piercing the forest canopy, strikes certain elements of the composition. I like to work with that scenario in order to create depth. This is in place of a cloudy sky that will deliver more even light. To each their own.
It's so bitterly cold and frosty here, the snow is gently falling, so I thought some morning fire from warmer times would be not bad.
Good start into the new week and for tomorrow ~HBM~
The mix of early fall colors, with the still-green backdrop, grabbed my eye on this one. In our yard.
The lighthouse is one of North Jutland's most visited landmarks for both locals and tourists. It was expected to crash into the ocean within next 5-10 years 😧 In order to preserve the lighthouse, Danish Nature Agency and Hjørring Municipality are preparing to move it about 80m inland this year (14 August, but the works already started). The lighthouse moving project will cost 5MLN DKK - more info at: fyretflytter.dk/
The light in Rubjerg Knude Lighthouse was lit for the first time the 27. December 1900. The lighthouse was built on the coastal slope’s highest point 60 metres above sea level and a good 200 metres inland.
The visual impression of Illinois’ agricultural landscapes is one of expansive openness, where the sky meets the earth in an unbroken line, punctuated only by the occasional farmhouse, silo, or grove of trees along waterways.
It is a landscape dominated by monoculture crops, primarily corn and soybeans, which stretch across the horizon in neat, orderly rows, often intersected by tractor paths. The area is predominantly flat with gently rolling hills, and the soil is exceptionally rich, thanks to thousands of years of organic matter accumulation from deep-rooted prairie plants. This has made Illinois one of the most productive agricultural states in the United States.

One of my all time favourite Beatles tracks. From "The White Album" of 1968!
"I look at you all, see the love there that's sleeping
While my guitar gently weeps
I look at the floor and I see it needs sweeping
Still my guitar gently weeps"

Looking over the fields behind the house as a gently mist hangs over the river Don and the trees that are scattered across the hillsides.
Walked through Paddington Train Station, London, recently. These screens showing arrivals and departures caught my eye.

She walks through the quiet rain as if the world softens around her—each drop falling gently, each step carrying a quiet promise. The umbrella blooms above her like a silent guardian, turning the gray afternoon into something tender. On the glistening stones, her footsteps seem to write a story of warmth, longing, and the kind of calm that only rainy days know how to offer.
