I've been staring at the skies all day long, today. Rain, alternate with sun, produced an infinite range of cloud shapes and colours. But no time to shoot, today...until a stolen moment after dinner, on the balcony. Lucky enough.
This tumultuous set of gaseous shapes reminds me how life origins itself: from incandescent clouds where forming stars begin to shine...

Amtrak's Empire Builder has a pair of fairly new GE "Genesis" locomotives, otherwise known a P42DC's. Shown here, hugging the banks of the Mississippi River at Maple Springs, MN
After seeing my first Genesis recently (G80), just a few days later I saw this one passing by. I couldn't get a picture, but more weeks later it was suddenly parked near my work.
E fu sera e fu mattina.
Genesis
In the beginning God made the heaven and the earth.
And the earth was waste and without form; and it was dark on the face of the deep: and the Spirit of God was moving on the face of the waters.
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
And God, looking on the light, saw that it was good: and God made a division between the light and the dark,
Naming the light, Day, and the dark, Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.
This is the first shot from my Canibeat feature shoot with Corey's Gen Coupe. I spent longer on this shot that I have on any single shot of my own, 13 polarizations/apertures/layers IIRC, and I hope it shows. I want to thank Canibeat, and Dave Tormey for giving me the feature, and Corey for letting me shoot his fantastic Gen Coupe. Hope you guys like the set! #63 on Explore today!
BTW, 100% natural light!

This image is a humble homage for the famous Brazilian photographer Sebastião Salgado. For anyone who does not know this personality I recommend watching the movie “The Salt of the Earth” directed and produced by Juliano Ribeiro Salgado and Wim Wenders. It portraits Salgado’s biography which at the same time shows everyone’s struggle to understand human’s contradictions when it comes to human interactions and conservatism.

I was yearbook photographer and editor for the schools first literary magazine. I sorta borrowed the schools camera and went to see Cream at Olympia Arena (torn down decades ago) in Detroit. Got this shot and since I was the Genesis I editor, I put it on the cover. Used a twin lens reflex, Konica and available light. My only cover shot.
