We had a fire at the back of the shop today (27-05-09) where I work. The generator to one of our fridges on the shop floor decided to go up in flames. It damaged the guttering at the top of the wall and scorched another generator plus damage to the fence and a neighbours shed roof. Luckily no one was hurt in the fire and smoke managed to find its way into the stockroom which now stinks of burnt plastic.

Lee Innovation Lab were given an "Engineer's Challenge": Use a variety of supplies and tools from our community makerspace to generate electricity from the wind. We provided minimum instruction, but our volunteers were on hand to help everyone be successful. Fun + learning = good times in the makerspace!
