Starting life during the Second World War, the signal or radio station at Killylane was used to communicate with Atlantic convoys as they made their trecherous journey. After the war, the station (which was well sited for its transatlantic communication) continued to be used by the military. It appears as if the site closed in the 1960's. The staff working here would most likely have been accommodated in the nearby RAF Eglinton domestic site at Ballygudden Road. Lough Foyle and the Atlantic can be seen in the distance in some of the images.
The site has laid abandoned on this exposed hilltop since, and as of 2019 is up for sale once again, this time with planning permission and it is likely the buildings will be demolished in the near future.

more pics of 1 of 2 brackets I fabbed up for a guy who knocked off the previous OEM brackets out from under the generator of his motorhome because he takes the thing 4x4'ing to get to the really awesome fishing spots.. I put two of these on there, with 3/8"x 6" skids, I was able to lift the side of the motorhome with em, so I think they'll work, May, 2011

Auch beim Werk Anamorphoses III von Soveral dient die Elektronik dazu, die Ausdrucksmöglichkeiten des Instruments zu ergänzen. Generator frame I built up for a guy who was 4x4'ing his motorhome just a little too much, and knocked the original generator frame off. I built the new one out of 3" x 3/8 square tube, with 2 3/8"x6" custom bent skids on the bottom so he wouldn't catch all this on anything. Ran into him at the post office the other day, he said it's workin' good so far! May 2011
