Inspired by "Petite Angèle" by Monsieur Balavoine...<3
and probably ... hum ...
"Faut vraiment que je dise à Angèle
Qu'ici c'est la révolution
Que tous les mômes foutent en l'air les poubelles
De la région
Qu'elle prenne sa bécane qu'elle sorte de chez elle
Qu'elle laisse tomber son feuill'ton
Pour me donner sur ces jeux rebelles
Une explication
Oh
Mais Angèle
Oh
Oh
Mais Angèle
Oh
{...}
Oh
Ma petite Angèle
Oh
Oh
{...}
Oh, oh, oh, Angèle
La, la, la,
La, la,la,
Oh, oh, oh"

I was just getting in my Van after a pleasant walk and saw this man, child and dog walking up the hill past the village pond. For once I was quick on the trigger ;-)
“Like branches on a tree, we grow in different directions but our roots remain the same.” - Unknown. This road trip we took was mainly a chance to reconnect with family. We saw our daughters and their families but I also had a brief visit with my siblings. Staying connected as family is often challenging when distances keep us apart. We had lots of grey rainy days so I went with the B&W version of this tree. I think it may be a cluster of trees that look like one grand tree. The branches seem in sync with each other. It was growing along the south shores of the St. Lawrence River. Happy Tree-mendous Tuesday.

CANAAN VALLEY - WEST VIRGINIA
Over the past thirteen plus years, the wife and I pay a biennial visit to Dolly Sods and the nearby Canaan Valley State Park to hike and enjoy the scenery. Along the short Blackwater River Trail, we have observed this same beaver dam throughout our visits. West Virginia does not allow hunting or trapping within the boundaries of its state parks and I wonder, how many multi-generational beaver families have been able to maintain this dam?
This view of the Indiana Northeastern running a NS unit grain train east to Montpelier shows off three different generations of EMD cab design. The leader, 1601, a 1952 built GP7 has EMD's original rounded cab roof while the 3rd out GP30 2185 has the distinctive cab unique to that model. Second out is 3125, original built as a SP SD45 with the cab profile that reigned supreme through the remainder of the "standard cab" era. This angle compares the three well. For me, it's a bit too soon to tell whether this young Northern Cardinal is a female or a male. I'm guessing male, but it will be easier to be sure in a few weeks, as the bird's colours mature.
It goes without saying - it's always exciting when a juvenile Red Headed Woodpecker shows up at one of the feeders!
I've seen a juvenile off and on for the past few weeks checking things out, but no idea is this is the same one or another one?
Regardless, this new feeder seems to be a hit with many of the birds, so hopefully this youngster will keep coming back and perhaps one day bring its youngsters here, too!
