After visiting the ice cave, we made a picknick break on top of the Splis-Gemer karst massive. There was a fresh chilly wind with astrong pine smell and a great blue sky. We layed down in the grass and watched the funny shapes of the clouds. Some cool cyclists, who made it all the way to the top, were passing by in sweaty shirts. The rest of the trip went on small roads through little villages and wonderful nature. The trip took much longer than we expected, because we had to drive slowly. Just before sunset we arrived in Michalovce, where we found several campsites to choose from.
It was not easy to find a place to cool down, there were no rivers and lakers in this area. We saw a lake on the map but it did not exist. Finally we found a little river but the water did not look ver clean. Some children were swimming in it so I also made a jump in the water. Jeroen and Eva preferred to stay on the bank of the river. Two horse passed our car, with nobody taking car of him. Then the sky became very dark and it started raining. Time to continue our trip...
The new Dresden synagogue was opened November 9, 200. The original building was destroyed 63 earlier during the Kristallnacht. The new building was designed by Architect Wolfgang Lorch who won the competition after it was decided that a faithful reconstruction of the original structure, built by architect Gottfried Semper in 1838, was not appropriate for present-day requirements of the Jewish community.

It’s a beautiful trail with great views of the city in the valley, as well as the mountains in the background. It’s a nice trail to explore and get a little bit of exercise. Also, if you love cats, you will randomly come into contact with multiple cats from the neighborhood. They seem to hang out along the trail.

The Monument of Tomáš Baťa was built in 1933 by František Lydie Gahura. The original purpose of the building was to commemorate the achievements of Baťa before his unexpected death in a plane crash in 1932. The building itself is a constructivist masterpiece. It has served as the seat of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Bohuslava Martinů since 1955.

Arriving at Deva, on the way to Timisoara, it looked like a deja-vu, with the name of the town written on top of the hill like in Brasov. It was a hot day so after making a little walk along the park and the palace we had to find a place in the shadow and were very thirsty.
There is not much green far and wide in Venice in January. Rather grey and damp and in the midst of it all, there are flowers in all bright colours for sale at this stand. A contrast for the eye and soul.

The Triana neighborhood is a barrio of Seville was the home of many gypsies, singers, flamenco dancers, sailors and even some of Spain’s famous bullfighters. It’s a very lively neighborhood filled with many colorful homes and old buildings, decorated with locally made azulejos (or ceramic tiles). Midi Beach is another public beach on the other side of Cannes, away from Boulevard de La Croisette with nice sandy beaches and spectacular views of the mountains in the distance! This is also a fantastic place to view the sunset every evening as you can watch the sun descend behind the mountains!

They are massive and it’s amazing to see so many together in one place. The Monaco Yacht Club has over 2,000 members from over 65 different countries. There are great views of the Rock of Monaco on the opposite side of the harbor. Some people claim this is the number one yacht club in Europe. The facility is also fantastic with a great selection of food, wine and cocktails. Even if you don’t own a yacht you can go here and rent one for the day if you are inclined.
