as one of the "red carpet four" who gatecrashed the gala dinner at cop15, our friend and fellow activist christian "chrigi" schmutz is still being held in a danish prison. we finally got an appointment for a meeting with the ambassador, so lots of people turned up to show solidarity and to support our spokesperson.
the first court hearing is tomorrow.
here's a page with a brief profile of the four arrested activists:

Nicholas Soames gave me this message to shout from every street corner on behalf of himself. . .
"Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls:
It is a great privilege to be the Member of Parliament for Mid Sussex and I am honoured to serve all my constituents however they voted.
The new Coalition Government, headed by David Cameron, has a patriotic, passionate and clear vision for where we want to take our country.
The Coalition came together in the national interest and the Prime Minister is clearly right in saying that the country needs to join together so we can get through these difficult times.
I am sorry that Tony Appleton lost two elections in Brentwood, but I do hope his care home prospers as does his theatrical business."

We pretty much gatecrashed this thing at half one in the morning, but the people were lovely and plied us with excellent potato salad.
Also: I think the house is a converted old railway station. But I was pretty drunk, so maybe it's not.

30/05/2022, during the 1,000 km drive from Koper, Slovenia, to Detmold, Germany, I drove off the motorway in search of a coffee.
In the little town of Pfarrwerfen, Austria, I found the delightful Hasselwanter bakery and cafe.
The only other customers were a group of distinguished locals, most wearing the traditional 'Tracht' (Austrian costume), and having a beer.
We fell into conversation and they announced they were holding a wake, following the death, and funeral (that afternoon) of a friend.
Despite wanting to get back to the drive, I spent a pleasant hour or so with them, putting the world to rights.
